Day seven.
Adrianna was up most of the night. Her thoughts kept her awake as she kept yearning for the chance to see her family. The sight of them being so heartbroken at her own state made her feel terrible, she needed to get out of here. Soft footsteps sounded from outside the door and they stopped carefully. The shadows of their feet could barely be seen and quickly they shoved something under the door. A small yellow note was slid inside and the footsteps quickly departed.
Adrianna reached over and grabbed the small note from the floor. She opened the paper and the words 'Go now' were written on the paper and a key and bobby pin were taped to the front. Adrianna untaped the key and hair clip and fumbled them in her hand. The key was familiar, it looked like Daryl's bike key and realization struck. Sherry, this was Sherry. She sat for a moment and thought about if she should take off. It could be a trap. But, you will never know if you don't try. Adrianna pulled her ear to the door and listened for any steps. When it was completely quiet, her hand brought the bobby pin to the lock and began trying to pick it. After a few moments of trying, a soft click sounded and hope filled her body. She turned the doorknob carefully and opened the door. Her head peaked out and when the coast was clear she took off down the hall.
The halls were quiet and she snuck around the corners carefully. She knew the path, she just had to make sure no one got in the way. A door opened and she swiftly ran back around the corner, voices started to talk and approach where she was. She looked around and begged for an escape. A door caught her attention and she ran in while hoping no one was in there. She closed the door behind her and cleared the room quickly. Her eyes scanned the room and looked for any type of weapon, she grabbed a pipe and waited for the voices to leave. Her itchy clothes brought her back and she searched the room for a different set. She threw on a few random pieces of men's clothing and snatched a jar of peanut butter from the counter. Immediately, she dug in and fed herself while hunger took over. The soft voices finally fading made Adrianna stand. She gripped the pipe and placed the peanut butter back down. Her eyes glanced over the room one last time and they stopped on a few wooden figure. Adrianna snatched one up and examined the work. It was the same type of woodwork that made the figure Daryl had taken from Dwight in the forest. She threw it back down and flipped a table before exiting the man's room.
She continued back down the halls and her heart raced as she approached the door. With a quick look she cleared the bike area and ran out. Her hands fumbled with the key as she came up to Daryl's motorcycle.
"What the hell?"
Adriannas head shot up at the sudden noise. "Woah." The man that set her up previously breathed out. He dropped a sandwich to the ground and raised his hands in surrender. "It's cool, I swear.
You can walk right out that back gate there and I won't say anything to anybody." The nervous man urged. "I'm supposed to be there now but listen, I'm just trying to get by, just like you." She took a step towards the man, she was nothing like the man in front of her. "Please." He begged. Her body stormed up to the man and it felt like something else was controlling her. Her grip tightened on the pipe and as the man flinched from her sudden movements she swung the pipe at the man's head. His large body fell to the ground and her anger overtook. She continued to swing at the man's dead body until a voice pulled her out of the trance.
"Adrianna."
Her head raised quickly and when she was about to raise the pipe in defense she paused. Jesus was stood in front of her, arms raised. She looked down at the guys dead body and threw down the bloody pipe. The slight glimmer of a gun in the man's waistband caught her attention and her hands shot to the weapon. "It ain't about just getting by here, it's about getting it all." She muttered out at the dead man. Adrianna held up the gun and she recognized it as Ricks colt python. Her head raised and she met Jesus's concerned gaze. "I got the key, let's go" She motioned to the motorcycle next to them.

"Adrianna." The soft voice spoke up.
Adrianna froze. The voice made her blood run cold and she snapped her body back. A sob escaped her lips and her body was brought into a tight hug.
Maggie's grip around the woman's shoulders tightened as she began to cry too. Adrianna felt as if she was dreaming. None of this could be real, she escaped the saviors, and now Maggie was alive.
The joy of Maggie being alive was quickly replaced by the feeling of guilt. She had got her husband killed. Her mind couldn't even process why Maggie was with her right now. If it was Adrianna and it was Daryl under the bat, she didn't know if she would be so comforting. Their soft sobs filled the air and their bodies shook underneath each others hold.
"Okay so-" The pair pulled away as the doctor walked in the room. "Sorry, didn't know you had company." The doctor apologized.
"It's okay." Maggie smiled at the man before turning back to Adrianna. "I have to take watch, but I'll find you later." The lady nodded at her and watched as Maggie walked out of the trailer.
"Here's this." Doctor Carson handed Adrianna a bottle of water, which she took gratefully. "The gunshot wound is basically healed and the cuts and bruises should be okay if you take it easy." She nodded at the man's words. "If you go up to the house, Jesus has some food waiting for you, you have to be starving." The mention of food made her mouth water and her stomach rumbled lightly. She pulled herself up from the table and made her way to the door. As her fingers touched the handle Carson spoke up again. "I'm sorry."
She gave the man a soft smile and shook her head."Don't be." Her hand turned the handle and she walked out of the trailer. The sun and breeze felt great on her skin and being able to walk without a weapon aimed at her was freeing. Adrianna walked up to the main building slowly as she observed the hilltop. She knew she wasn't quite welcome here but Jesus somehow was able to convince Gregory to let her stay. He promised the man that the saviors wouldn't come look for her there and the hilltop was safe. She continued up the path and pulled herself inside, the smell of warm food comforted her and she finally felt safe again. Well, safer than she was.
————————
The morning sun peered over the horizon and shined on to Adriannas face. She was sat on the steps of the trailer she spent the night in. At first she believed her first night out of the saviors hold would be better but in fact it was almost worse. Her heart raced the whole night at the idea of waking up to the saviors being there and taking her back. Her family stayed on her mind and she wondered how they were doing since Negan's raid. Despite missing everybody, she tried her best to avoid Maggie. She was here with Sasha and Enid and the small community made it difficult to steer clear. The guilt was eating her alive and she couldn't face a conversation with Maggie. It should've been her not Glenn. They were just starting their family, their future, and Adriannas mistake took it all from them.
"Adrianna." Jesus walked over with a smile. "There's some people here that you're gonna wanna see."
She came to a stand and walked with the man to the front gate. Multiple familiar figures had just entered the gate and her heart skipped a beat. The faces of her loved ones were there and they were okay. As one face stood out, a sob escaped her lips and she took off towards the man. His large frame engulfed Adrianna into a hug and the couple cried in each others arms. Daryl pulled away slightly and cupped her face with his hands. "You're okay?" His voice shook as tears rolled down his face. She nodded and the man places a kiss against her lips. After a moment she pulled away and looked to the rest of her family. Rick was next up to her and pulled Adrianna into a hug with wide eyes. The group smiled in joy at the sight. No one was sure if Adrianna would ever be free again.
When everyone finished their greetings, Adrianna pulled Ricks gun from her waistband. The man's eyes widened and he took the gun from her hesitantly. He checked the chamber and almost cheered when he saw it was full. "We're gonna fight." Rick nodded to the group as he shoved the gun into his empty holster. "We're taking back what's ours." His tone was serious as he spoke to the group. They nodded at the man and the group prepared themselves mentally. They had to fight. They had to take back what was theirs. It was the only option.
