"Aaron, Rosita. You start here." Rick orders as the group exits the vehicles. Today was the day they were gonna take out the saviors. "We'll peel off every quarter mile, meet back here in a couple of hours, see what we've got." He motioned for everyone to group up. "We're gonna take a look around. Try to get a feel for how many people are in there." The day before they had taken a member of the hilltop who had been to the compound multiple times. The man had mapped out the building the best he could from what he had seen.
"We like how it looks, we go in. A couple hours before dawn." Adrianna spoke up. "The guards outside will be tired, everyone inside will be sleeping." She added when she noticed the nervous expressions of some. "We don't like what we see, we head back, make a new plan. They don't know who we are. We'll keep Jesus in the shadows."
"This is how we eat." Rick reminded the people what they were fighting for. "We'll roll out at midnight."
Everyone began going their separate ways to prepare for the take down. Adrianna and Rick walked over to the front of the truck but a hand pulled the woman back.
"Why is Maggie here?" Carol asked Adrianna.
"She's guarding the perimeter." She replies as if it were obvious, they just went over the plan of everyone's positions before they left.
"No, I mean why is she here?" Carol asks again.
Adrianna shrugged. "It's her choice." Adrianna agreed slightly but she wouldn't tell Maggie that. Like she said, it's her choice. The woman wanted to fight for her unborn child and Adrianna respected that. She was in no position to tell her otherwise.
"Well I want to stay with her then." Carol argued.
"This whole thing is a race to the armory." She reminded the older lady. "We need as many people inside as we can get."
"She shouldn't be out there alone. She shouldn't be out here in the first place."
Adrianna sighed and nodded her head. "Okay." Carol gave her a smile in return and walked away to go let Maggie know.
Adrianna continued on her path to the front of the RV and stopped at the walker heads laid out on the floor. "What've we got?" She asked. The man they picked up pointed at a head to the right side. "That one." Rick walked over and picked the head up turning it to the man so he could be sure. "Probably best we're doing this at night." He adds. They scrunch their eyebrows and look over to the man.
"Something wrong with it?" Rick asks. "The nose. Gregory's is a different shape." Rick's eyes went to Adriannas and she could see the idea forming in his head. She motioned for him to go ahead. He brought his fist back and swung at the dead walkers head. He broke the nose while the other man grimaced at his actions and looked confused. "He fought back. He broke your hand, right?" Adrianna motioned to the man's bandaged hand. He nodded and stared at the pair in shock. "Guess there's no reason to be subtle about it." He muttered out not taking his eyes off the people in front of him. "What?" Rick asks noticing the man's lingering glare."The saviors, they're scary but these pricks got nothing on you two."
————————
It was the small hours of the night and the moon shined brightly. The group had done their scouting and didn't see any sign of this going wrong. They went forward with the plan and sent the man up with the fake head of Gregory. The group lurked quietly in the shadows and watched the interaction unfold.
"Well looks like you've learned." One of the armed men says while holding the head up. "We'll get your guy and be back next week." An evil smile overtook his lips and he walked inside leaving only one man outside. He began whistling but it was cut short when Daryl snuck up quietly behind him and slit his throat. Daryl waved his arms and the group came piling out of the shadows. Multiple people grabbed ahold of the now dead man's body and dragged him away. The group went back to hiding in the dark before the man returned. With a soft creek the door opened and revealed the man, he was pushing another guy forward. This must be Craig. As he pushed the guy towards their man, Adrianna snuck up quietly behind and took him out. With a quick stab the man was dead and fell to the ground. She snatched the keys off his hip and threw them Daryl's way. She snapped for her group and they dragged the second body away quickly.
