The wind was blowing and the sun was shining.
The loud purr of Daryl motorcycle could be heard from the farm house. Adriannas hair blew as she held onto Daryl.
Pulling to a stop at the farm house Rick and Lori came out of the house to come see the rest of the group.
Dale spoke up first. "How is he?"
"He'll pull through. Thanks to Hershel and his people." Lori starts.
"And Shane. We'd have lost Carl if not for him." Rick finishes as everyone looks towards Shane's direction.
Immediately Adrianna and Daryl took notice of his appearance and attitude. Something was definitely off about the situation.

The group stood in formation along with Hershel's people for a funeral. The group didn't know him but he lost his life to help Carl they wanted to be respectful.
Adrianna and Daryl stood further back than most.
"Praise to be with him with the gift of our brother Otis. For his span of years. For his abundance of characters. Otis who gave his life to save a child's."
Adrianna looked away from Hershel over to Shane who wouldn't stop fidgeting. His eyes were filled with a look that could almost be guilt.
"We thank you god for the peace he enjoys in your embrace. He died as he lived. In grace." Adrianna nudged Daryl's shoulder slightly as Hershel continued. He looked up to her and she nodded her head over to a nervous Shane as Hershel called on him to speak for Otis.
Shane didn't want to speak. Patricia begged him to speak, she needed it.
He began telling a story about how Otis sacrificed himself. The look in his eyes telling it all. Adrianna and Daryl shared a look and they looked back at him.
He killed Otis. And not everyone was seeing it.

After the funeral the group got together at the truck hoping to plan a search. "How long has the girl been lost?" Hershel asked.
Rick spoke. "This will be day three."
Maggie approached with a map laying it on the car hood. "County survey map. Shows terrain and elevations." She says.
"This is perfect. We can finally get this thing organized. We'll grid the whole area. Start searching in teams." Rick spoke out before Hershel told him he can't be out after giving so much blood. He then turned to Shane to tell him he can't push his ankle.
"Guess it's just us." Daryl spoke gesturing to Adrianna and himself. "We're gonna go back to the creek. Work our way from there." He says.
"I can still be useful." Shane spoke up. "I'll drive up to the interstate see if Sophia wandered back."
"Alright tomorrow then." Rick says folding the map up. "We'll start doing this right." He finishes.
"That means we can just have our people out there with knives. They need the gun training we promised them." Shane added.
Hershel spoke before anyone. "I would prefer you didn't carry any guns on my property. We've managed this far without turning this into an armed camp."
"With all due respect you get a crowd of those things wandering up here then.." Shane said.
"We're guest here. This is your property and we will respect that." Rick says firmly taking his gun out.
Shane followed. "First things first, set up camp and find Sophia." Rick said.
