It was a few months later.
The prison was starting to feel like a home. The group had taken in a bunch of people and they turned the place into a community. Everyone had their duties like dishes, clothes, and cooking. It was peaceful, it was nice. Everything was going just as they had wished. They just hoped it stayed that way.
Adrianna's eyes fluttered open at the feeling of slight kisses on her neck. "It's time to get up." Daryl grumbled between kisses.
Adrianna groaned. "5 more minutes." She snapped her eyes shut and cuddled into him further.
He let out a slight chuckle. "You said that an hour ago." He nudged her body slightly. "Come on let's get something to eat before the run."
She let out another groan. She rubbed the sleep out of her eyes and sat up slowly. Daryl followed and laid a few kisses on her shoulder.
They got up, got dressed, and headed out to the courtyard.
"Hey Daryl!"
"Adrianna!"
"Thanks for bringing that deer back you guys!"
"Morning!"
"Hey guys!"
The voices that shouted in their direction was strange, neither of them ever had that much attention. They let out an awkward laugh and headed to Carol.
"Enjoying the popularity?" She asked stirring a pot of food.
"Smells good." Adrianna complimented.
"Just so you guys know I liked y'all first." Carol joked, handing them each a bowl of food.
"Stop." Daryl shoved a piece of food in his mouth.
"You know Rick brought in a lot of them too." He dismissed all the praise."Not recently. Giving the people sanctuary, keeping people fed, you guys are gonna have to live with the love." She bluntly explained with a smile.
"Right." Adrianna laughed.
"I need you guys to see something." Carols tone changed. "Patrick, you wanna take over?" She called out to the young boy, about Carls age.
"Yes ma'am." He walked over quickly. "Uh Mr and Mrs Dixon?" The name he just said for them made the pair stop in their tracks. They turned to him.
"I just wanted to thank you guys for bringing that deer back yesterday. It was a real treat, and I'll be honored to shake your hands."Adriannas eyebrows scrunched in confusion, no one had ever shook their hands for hunting before.
Daryl licked every finger clean of food, almost mockingly before shaking his hand. Patrick's lips formed a small maybe uncomfortable smile. He then reached for Adrianna's hand. She reached out and gave him a normal hand shake with a smile.
The three walked away from Patrick, leaving him to the food.
Adrianna nudged Daryl. "Really?" She laughed and motioned towards Patrick.
He shrugged his shoulders with an almost proud smile.
"About today, I don't know if we're going to be able to spare a lot of people for the run." Carol caught their attention.
"That place is good to go. We're gonna move on it." Daryl commented.
"Yeah." They approached a part of the gate where h they could see out. "The thing is, we had a pretty big buildup overnight." She pointed to the corner. "Dozens more towards tower three. It's getting as bad as last month, they don't spread out anymore."
