It was a few hours later. The three of them had walked for miles trying to find a place. The walk was quiet, everyone too busy thinking about the losses they just experienced.

Adrianna and Rick walked side by side a good distance away from Carl, who walked ahead.

Adrianna stumbled slightly, her leg needed a serious break. "Carl." Her raspy voice called out.

"Carl, slow down." Rick called out when the boy started to walk faster ahead of them.

"Carl, stop!" His tone made Carl stop. "We need to stay together. We got to find a place with food, supplies." Adrianna and Rick finally caught up to him. Rick reached out for Carls shoulder. "Hey. We're gonna be..." Rick stopped talking when he saw the look of hatred Carl gave him.

Carl turned quickly and started walking again.

"It's gonna be okay." Adrianna muttered to Rick, as they started to limp their way down the street.

They walked for a few more miles and finally came across a small building. "Wait outside, okay? Keep watch." Adrianna said to Carl, as she grabbed her knife out.

"You keep watch." His tone made Ricks and hers head snap to his. "You guys can barely stand I'm not gonna let you go in there alone."

"Excuse me?" Rick was repulsed by his tone.

"We've done this before. I'm gonna help you guys clear it." Carl demanded. "You should just let me do it myself." He held up his gun to the door.

Rick gave him a stern look before turning back to the door. "Let's go." He gave a swift nod to Adrianna.

She swung the door open and they crept inside carefully. They went their own directions as they searched the place.

"Kitchens clear." Rick called out as he joined Adrianna and Carl in a room. In the corner, a walker was barricaded in with some cans of food and bottles of hot sauce.

"That might be all that's left." Adrianna pointed out.

"I can get it from here." Carl suggested.

"No, it's weak. I'll draw it out." Rick said as he started to grab some chairs. "Stay back." He instructed. The walker made its ways out, growling at the sight of food. Rick swung his axe into its head, the weapon stopped when it got stuck. The first blow didn't kill it and it kept biting. "Damn it!" Rick exclaimed.

Carl held his gun up his direction. "Don't!" Rick yelled. He was gonna handle it. The walker kept struggling, it's rotten jaws snapped at Ricks face.

Bang

A gunshot exited Carls guns and the walker dropped with a loud thud. "I said not to." Rick scolded, turning to his rebelling son.

"You couldn't do it with the axe." Carl argued.

"I had it. Every bullet counts. What if you needed that one later?" Carl went quiet at his fathers discipline.

"See what you can find, then let's move on." Adrianna said breaking the silence. She moved to search some other rooms in the house. With no luck of finding anything, she walked back to the room in defeat.

"Kitchen wasn't empty after all." Rick held up some cans as he walked in.

"Other rooms were." Adrianna sighed.

Rick put the items into a pillow case before handing it Carls way. "My haul, you?" He asked, kindly.

Carl roughly shoved more food than Rick had found into the bag. With a smug grin, he looked up to his father.
