The car growled softly as it drove smoothly on the empty road. Tension filled the car.
A soft bump made Adrianna stir slightly awake but she kept her eyes shut.
"How are we gonna tell Adrianna?" Glenn asks nervously. Rick looks over to him from the road and lets out a sigh.
"Guys, shh!" Maggie hushed them as she noticed the girl stirred around. Her head layed in Maggie's lap, eyes threatening to open.
Maggie was too late, Adrianna's interest was already peaked at the mention of her name.
Her eyes flutter open, squinting at the sunlight. "Tell me what?" Her hand shoots to her side, the stinging pain still lingering. She sits up slowly lifting her head and feet off of Maggie and the samurai. She came to a normal sitting up position. Her eyes shot around looking around the car then for any other cars around. "Where's Daryl?" She asks in a panic.
No one can meet her eye, guilt filling their hearts.
"Rick?" She asks catching his eye on the rear view mirror. "Where is Daryl?" Her voice cracking, the thought of something bad that happened to him filled her mind.
"He um- He left Adrianna." Rick replies. No longer being able to keep eye contact he turns his eyes back to the road.
"What?" Her eyebrows scrunched in confusion. He was just here. "What happened?" When no one answers her she gets angry. "What happened?!" She borderline shouts to the people surrounding her.
"Merle's not allowed at the prison and Daryl didn't like that decision. He said No Merle then No him." Rick explains to Adrianna. "Then he left." He looks back in the rear view mirror. Her heart drops. The sounds around her started to muffle. "He said he was sorry-" Rick gets cut off before he could finish.
"Don't." She snarled. Tears pricked at her eyes and threatened to spill over. "I don't want to hear anymore." She leans back in her seat, her shoulders dropping in disappointment.
Her mind was fuzzy.
She couldn't believe he would just leave her like that, like all the years they went through together meant nothing. Pain filled her heart. She thought Daryl loved her, she sure loved him.
Rick, Glenn, Maggie, and the samurai watch the girl as she fought with herself in her mind.
Even though the ride was quiet, everyone was sure they could hear Adrianna's loud thoughts entering the air. Anger radiated off of her and she wanted nothing more than to just leave.
She felt like she had nothing. She had the group but the one good thing she has ever had left her.
She felt like a teenager again. She would get a beating from her mom and then always want to run to Daryl. This time it was somebody else beating her and there was no Daryl to run to.
She was by herself.
The prison came into view and the car let out a breath of relief. The governor wasn't there.
They were safe.
Rick pulled into the first gate and hopped out of the car. "Drive them up. I'll meet you there." He tells Maggie as he pulls Carl into a hug.
Maggie hopped in the front seat and drove up the path to the prison. Before she could fully put the car in to park, Adrianna hopped out and began stumbling away.
Glenn hopped out behind her. "Stop." He slightly shouts out, trying to catch up to her. Even injured the girl was fast. "Adrianna stop!" He yells making her stop in her tracks.
She doesn't turn his way, instead she keeps her gaze focused on to the door in front of her. "You're hurt. You almost went in shock out there, you need to see Hershel. Now." He tells her, worry lacing his words.
