"Hey, I'm stealing your black blazer." I inform my husband sliding my hands into the oversized sleeves of his black blazer as I step out of the walk-in closet.

Vidyut shoots me a frown as he stands in front of the mirror strapping his watch. "Never knew thieves inform the things they steal."

"Well, this thief does." I wink at our reflection, standing in front of him and looking at myself for the last time.

I look pretty good for a business meeting. The gap I've had in attending a business meeting has prompted me to go with the classic business choice, white button down paired with a black trousers and my husband's blazers- because I love wearing his things, it gives me comfort and right now, confidence.

Pushing my fingers to my nape I give my curled waves a fluff one last time and pull a section to my front, resting it against my right chest. The gold chain curls perfectly around my neck, highlighting my collarbone and my charm-let beside the watch jiggles each time I move my hand.

"I ironed your black blazer for you."

"I know." I tilt my head up at him and shoot a coy smile, I know he'll fall for. "But I love wearing your things at times."

"And why's that?" He peers down at me resting his chin on my head.

I shrug my shoulders. "I don't know, it makes me closer to you and you know today's a big day."

A big day because today we'll be almost sealing the deal with the property owner-officially starting talks to buy the place.

It's just been two months since the plan has got a shape, hence it's still in the budding phase. The legal process is still dragging on, and it feels like it eats up my time and the trust's resources each week with new demands and document requirements.

And even though the legal framework and paperworks aren't fully completed yet, I've been hunting for the perfect place to paint my dreams into a reality for months now. One, finding a place in the city of dreams to fulfill your dreams is harder than one might think. Plus, with the current state of the market and inflation, I had to act fast on this, maybe even impulsively. Plot after plot, building after building, area after area-- I've been through half of the properties that's for sale in Mumbai by now. Dad, Daddu, and Vidyut have been just as involved, acting like they can't sit still and let me do my job.

Dad suggested I use one of our real-estate properties, which he's planned for something else and Vidyut has been trying to bottle me up for taking up one of theirs too, both of which I respectfully declined. Because I want to do all of it alone. Their support and time is all I want and I've been getting that more than I'd ever thought I'd.

"I told you, I could join you." He deadpans.

"Come on, I can do this." I sigh, almost annoyed. Taking a step away, I turn around, meeting his soft gaze with mine. "Let me do this."

He tilts his chin a bit, sighing, accepting his defeat and nods his head. "As you say."

I smile and wrap my arms around him. He wraps his back around me firmly and presses a kiss to my hair, almost inhaling the scent of it like it's his oxygen before leaning away to meet my eyes.

Tilting my head up, I tip my chin against his chest and wrap my arms around his neck, not yet ready to step away from his warmth.

"You look beautiful." Our breath mingles, the distance between our faces fading. One of his palms glides up my side and rests against my upper spine. Leaning down, he brushes a kiss over my nose-ring, his fingers tracing the lapel of my blazer, correcting it. Then, he dips his head to plant a soft kiss at the corner of my mouth. "I know you can and you will do this like a cake walk. After all, you are the 'it' woman of this house. But still, all the best, my love."
