~ Esha ~
The elevator pings and the cab opens to the forty-fifth floor. The space, sleek and luxurious with panoramic views of the city skyline on one side and breathtaking views of the bustling city below and the Arabian Sea beyond. He leads the way to his office at the end of the floor. We pass a number of bookshelves, lounge areas, two conference rooms and a huge showcase that encloses each and every achievement the company has received till date.
"Esha!" A surprised Tanya beams at me from her spacious cubicle, a few feets ahead of the room.
I smile back with the same energy and leave his side to greet her. "Hey, bro."
"Long time no see." She walks up and holds my palm in hers, squeezing them in glee, her smile too broad.
I love this cutie.
"I know right." My smile broadens on its own and I squeeze her palms back. "How are you?"
"Aah." She sighs dramatically and rolls her eyes. "It's better not to talk. You know how nine to five is." She pauses and scowls at the man waiting for me and murmurs only to me. "Not that I hate him or he's bad, but your husband is a pain in the ass. Too workaholic."
A laugh spills free from me.
"I heard that." Vidyut remarks, his eyes narrowed at her. He grabs my hand back and smiles at her. "Now if you're done complaining about me, can I have my wife back?"
"Sure." she smiles at him and as we step ahead, she calls again. "And I hope you'll remember what you heard."
"Sure." He nods and looks over his shoulder. "I'll keep that in my mind while signing your bonus."
I don't see her, but her dramatic gasp echoes through the empty space.
"Esha, you see what I mean?"
I laugh, throwing my head and poke at his ribs. Looking over my shoulder as he scans his finger to unlock the door, I wink at her.
"Don't worry, sweetheart. I'll take care of it and I'm always on your side."
"You are such a sweetheart." Her head tilts in awe and she throws a flying-kiss my way.
Chuckling, I wave at her and step inside as the door swings open. He steps behind me and closes the door softly, the sound of it clicking shut echoing in the otherwise quiet room. I look around, taking in the space. Calm, clean and absolutely a reflection of him. It's similar to his study back home. Sleek, minimalist, calming. However what takes my breath and leaves me in awe is the glass wall behind his desk, one side that offers an unobstructed view of the Bandra-Worli Sea Link stretching across the sparkling Arabian Sea.
"What's with everyone I know complaining about me to you?" He wonders aloud with a frown.
Chuckling, I turn around and step closer to him, wrapping my arms around his neck.
"Because they know who their boss' boss is."
A look of amusement washes over him and he tugs me closer by waist. "Yeah? And you happen to be the boss?"
"Am I not?" I tilt my head up and gaze into his eyes.
"Ooh, you are, but that's until I want to." His voice thickens, eyes darker, breath fanning against my hair as he presses his body closer to mine. "I'm the one who can make you forget all about that."
I pull back slightly, my eyes even without a consent darkening with a mischievous glint and stomach going hollow in anticipation.
"You've become dirty minded."
