Chapter Eighty Eight

Third Person's POV

"All right people. Let's not delay this inevitable slaughter-fest any longer. Please come to the center for the start." Koto announces after hearing how eager for this fight to happen are the audience, as well as not hearing any arguments by the committee, which Akina confesses is quite suspicious. "Only one fighter left on each side. Now, that's the demon way to battle." A demon amongst the crowd cheers out. "Punch out his kidneys! Put 'em on his head!" Another demon yells out, whilst another yells out, "Give us some blood, Risho! Give us some blood!" Everyone but Akina was staring at Kuwabara with worry evident. "Think, Yusuke! There must be some way we can prevent this disaster." Kurama speaks with urgency. "I-I don't know." Yusuke hesitantly confesses, leading to Akina scoffing at the two as she says, "Have a little faith." Goro gives her a pointed look that just screams "seriously" but she ignores it as she choses to focus on the still limping Kuwabara.

Meanwhile back with Butajiri, who is pressing his face against the glass with his cockiness and confidence back and on display as he scoffs, "As soon as this half-dead kid tips over, I'm gonna be a very wealthy man." Yosai's scarlet eyes once again narrow on Butajiri and smoothly says, "Remember that your life is on the line now, not just money, Butajiri." The greedy man waves his left hand dismissively at the pale demon, making Yosai's mood drop even more to the point he mentally called out to Chiharu, 'There are some Humans here trying to kill off Akina and keep her from her destiny.' To which he then hears her voice in his mind, 'Inform me the best way to get into that deranged place.'

"Look at that glow in his eyes. Kuwabara's really ready for more." Koto beams as she watches the human teen, but then shows signs of concern as Kuwabara clutches at his sides again. 'Yes Akina healed me, but not enough.' He mentally complains whilst verbally releases his groans of pain for all to hear. This makes Risho look annoyed, but Kuwabara was going to focus on getting to the center of the ring, not his opponent. Currently anyway. Koto is now face to face with a whimpering Kuwabara, who is trying to keep his composure. Koto forces a smile as she gets up in Kuwabara's face and ask, "It feels delightful, doesn't it?" She then releases a panicked noise and takes multiple steps back as Kuwabara falls forward and crashes into the ground again, making the female fox's face go blank as she says, "You don't like it?"

"Did she really ask that?" Goro asks with furrowed brows, making Akina turn to him and say, "We may never know how her mind works, Goro." This makes Goro look over to her and confess, "With all that she has said and done, I don't think I ever want to." But as those two commented on Koto, the audience was commenting about what is occurring in the ring. "You better count to ten." A lizard like looking demon chuckles out as he takes in the sight of Kuwabara on his knees, making a brown horned demon say, "Yeah, or the committee will do it for her." Unfortunately, foxes have very good hearing, so naturally Koto had heard these comments, making her sweat drop and have nervous chuckles escape from her lips whilst saying, "This is gonna be a short one." Risho's smug look returns at her words before saying, "Yes, he's just a waste of time." But that of course was a mistake on his part, for his words had relite the fire Kuwabara has as his eyes snap open and he shouts at him, "You are!" And with all his anger that built up, he was able to swiftly get back to standing up with his back straightened and his head raised high. Akina almost laughed at the face Risho had in response to Kuwabara getting up, but she held it back letting the attention remain on Kuwabara.
