Kurama's Spring Flower

Chapter Eight

'This is worst case scenario.' Shuichi thinks as he leaps through the air searching for Hiei, and when he finds him using his Jagan eye. "I'm going to accompany you." Shuichi informs him as he covers the Jagan eye, for Hiei to then reply, "Something make you change your mind about being a coward?" Shuichi simply states, "The situation's change." The two then leap in the direction of their target, and whilst doing this Hiei says, "It's the girl, isn't it? You really are soft if you are saving someone you see at fault." Shuichi replies, "Well, we both have our priorities." Hiei disliked this reply as he says, "You talk too damn much. It's annoying."

They then reach the abandoned factory and are greeted with the sight of severed limbs, pieces of mannequins and broken glass littering the floor. "An old factory..." Hiei speaks to himself as they walk towards a more open part of the factory to see more and more remains of dead bodies, making Hiei state, "Bastard's got bad table manners. There's half eaten human bits amid the mannequin parts..." The two then find themselves on the ground floor in a spacious room that had a moonlight spot light, and there they sensed their target's presence, as they stand on guard and look around them. Cracks then form underneath them as hands burst from the ground in attempt to grab the two, but they thankfully dodge by leaping away, to then observe the cloud of smoke that was hiding their attacker. But when the smoke cleared they could see the pale skinned, six armed demon on full display, who was looking at Hiei through slit eyes and green hair, snarls, "You again? Real persistent aren't you?" In response Hiei reaches for his blade whilst replying, "I'm only going to ask one more time. Tell me the name of the Ice Maiden you ate." The demon flexes his muscular arms as he responds with a chuckle, "Can't say I remember!" Then Shuichi speaks to him, "You kidnapped a girl today. Where is she?!" The demon laughs as his right arm attached to his head picks up a pale bloodied severed leg by its toes whilst asking, "What do you think this is?"

Shuichi had no idea what came over him, but he allowed his demon energy to unleash itself and use it to make a lethal blade out of a leaf, as he then charges at the demon yelling, "Bastard-!" Hiei also joins him in his assault, amusing the demon, who successfully blocks the two's attacks no matter what they throw at him. Hiei even tries to take him from bellow, but doesn't succeed and to add to his failure, the demon bends back to laugh at him before attempting to grab him. Thankfully, Hiei dodges the attack but then gets hit by a powerful kick, and yet he manages to land. Even so, Shuichi was shocked by how the two were failing to land any damage on the demon, but the two continue to try. "Talk about useless!" The demon insults them. "Doesn't matter how many of you there is, if you're all so pathetic!" At the end of his sentence, he grabs hold of his opponents' blades before throwing the two away from him, sending them crashing to the ground, causing the two a lot of pain.

Unknown to all three of them, two others have entered the scene but remain in the shadows. One of them being the loyal limo driver, who watches them with a keen eye and camera in hand but not switched on as its intended purpose was to take photo's of the remains of the kidnapped young girl; whilst the other was Chiharu, who was lead to them by the small dog that resides in her arms and whimpers as it stares longingly at the red head, making Chiharu watch them in curiosity.

Hiei looks up to see the demon falling towards him, with the intent of crushing him, and thankfully he was able to dodge but still needed rest. Shuichi seeing this, quickly grabs him whilst the smoke caused by the demon's landing, prevents the demon from seeing them. "Where are you hiding?! Get out here!" The demon yells, unaware that they are resting behind a wall somewhere behind and round the corner from the demon. "Why are you risking so much to find this girl?" Shuichi asks after catching his breath. Hiei tusks and sits up as he replies, "I could ask you the same." He then stands up before continuing to speak, "You're not like the trash demons that hide in the Human World. What are you doing here?" After hearing this question, Shuichi instantly thinks of all those moments with his human mother before it progresses to the memories of his times with Akina. "Well..." He was about to conjure an answer until Hiei interrupts him, "Never mind. Don't care." This makes Shuichi chuckle before speaking, "Whatever our reasons, we need to survive this. Right?" Hiei looks at him in shock before Shuichi decides to give in to his nature as Kurama and speaks of the battle, "Given our current situation, there's only one way...that we can win." And before the two can continue to discuss the strategy that Shuichi has come up with......

"There you are!" The demon yells as he smashes the wall the two are hiding behind making the two jump away but in the same direction as Hiei realises what must be done, he shouts to Shuichi, "I'm in!" The two then get in a battle stance side by side and glare at their enemy awaiting for the smoke to clear, before they charge at him in overcrossing zigzag motion to then leap at the demon and start slashing at him. He blocks their first set of attacks that come from above, making him release a chuckle and speak in a cocky tone, "What a stupid trick!" He then spots the two on the ground in front of him, making him try to hit them with one fist, causing the two to dodge in opposite direction. "A little improvised teamwork, huh?" As he mocks them, Shuichi runs round his left side whilst Hiei runs round his right, and even as the demon leans far back to smirk at them and continue to mock them, "You'll have to do better than that!",  when the two fighters cross paths, Hiei suddenly disappears from beside Shuichi and from the demon's line of sight. "Is what I say to psych you out, when I know..." The demon continues as he goes up into a handstand to make one of his hands try to crush Shuichi, who successfully dodges. "One of you is in the air!" The demon then yells as he looks up and throws a punch at what looked like Hiei, but wasn't. "A mannequin!?" He asks in disbelief once realising he hit a mannequin wearing Hiei's clothes, proving to be the perfect distraction as he failed to see Hiei perched on Shuichi's back. Hiei uses this opportunity to leap off of Shuichi and into the air to attack from above, whilst Shuichi charges at the demon on the ground to attack from bellow. The two release battle cries before slicing the demon into pieces.

As he dies he congratulates the two, "Not bad. Here's a reward for your trouble...The girl's alive. And I haven't eaten any Ice Maidens. If I had eaten even a single high class Demon like that...The two of you...wouldn't have stood a chance...and that woman wouldn't have control of me." And with all three parts of his body hitting the ground, he dies.
