Akina's POV
"Well now this place is homey." Yusuke says as we stand before an entrance that is structed to be an open mouthed skull leading to a dark tunnel. I sigh and say, "I can just feel the welcoming energy, can't you?" Both me and Yusuke look at each other with a smile for a moment before becoming serious again and staring down the tunnel as Kuwabara says, "So, I guess we're gonna just walk right in?" Kurama then speaks up from behind him, "Any prize that's worth having usually requires risk." However, Kuwabara did not like how this was playing out as he says, "I think we make them come out here and fight us up front like they're not a bunch of sissies!" This makes Hiei say, "Your sense of strategy is amazing." Everyone knew this to be an insult as it makes Kuwabara yell through mine and Yusuke's ears as we block him from Hiei, "Are you talking to me, runt boy!?" But neither me or Yusuke wanted this ridiculous situation to continue so we both grunt out in sync, "Let's go!" And we both lead everyone into the tunnel and I manage to hear Goro say, "It's strange to hear the two speak in sync." Whilst Kuwabara was grumbling, "Stupid dwarf!"
We enter the tunnel and walk through the tunnel in silence. However when it seemed we were about to reach the end a strange creature that was a large eyeball with bat wings and tentacles block our exit, making us gasp. "Welcome to Maze Castle." It greets us in a strange squeaky yet distorted and echoey voice. "Woah it talks." Kuwabara blurts out. "Those who enter Maze Castle must be trialled by the Gate of Betrayal." The eye says to us, making Yusuke ask, "What do you mean, trial?" It then flaps over to the exit to a wall that reveals a small lever. "I have a bad feeling about this." Goro says as we watch one of the eye's tentacles moves the lever down, making our surroundings start shaking. "Urameshi...." Kuwabara starts as we then hear clockwork. "Why did you have to ask?" Kurama then looks up and shouts, "The ceiling!" We all look up and see the ceiling quickly start falling down to crush us, making us all raise our arms to hold it up. Bloody hell! It's so heavy!
"Heavy isn't it?" The eye begins to speak as it watches us all struggle to keep the ceiling up. "Sensors in the corridor are most intelligent. A complex assembly of gears adapts the ceilings weight precisely to the strength of its victims. Of course there is a catch, just enough leeway for one person to escape, leaving their friends to be crushed by the weight." Myself and Yusuke glare at the eye as we both grunt out, "Dammit!" The bat lowers itself so it can watch us all more closely as we struggle. "But decisions must be made quickly. Not even the six of you combined can hold the ceiling for long. If you insist on teamwork, then everyone will be crushed. Only by turning against your friends will one of you be able to escape. Only the traitor among you deserves to enter Maze Castle, that's why it's called the Gate of Betrayal you see." The eye laughs at us, causing Goro to growl in anger and it seems to temporarily scare it off as it flies out of our view.
"Boy I'd like to get my hands on that bat thing. Ugh." Kuwabara says before he seems to shift slightly, causing more weight to fall against all our hands and make us all grunt at the sudden change of weight. "Stay focused on the weight or you'll kill us all!" Hiei shouts at him, making Kuwabara look over to him and start another argument, "Oh sure, blame me. I bet I'm holding up a lot more weight than you." Goro grunts out, "Weren't you listening?! We are all holding the same weight! And it is wise not to anger your allies!" Kuwabara looks like he was about to argue with him, making me and Yusuke shout, "Shut it, Kuwabara!" Hiei continues to glare at Kuwabara as he says, "Well I'm not about to die for you worthless humans." This makes Kurama then look at him and say, "Don't you even consider it, Hiei." Yusuke grunts out, "Man, I knew we should have played trust games." Goro looks to me and asks, "What's the plan Akina?"
