Yoko Kurama was believed to be a fox that would never settle down and remain a cold hearted thief all because he never got to know what love is. However, this all changes not just because of his human mother, but also because of a human girl that ca...

Akina was taking a small nap after being encouraged to eat half of her meal, unaware of the two visitors that she is about to receive meeting each other outside the hospital. "Here we are." Yusuke says aloud to himself nervously, not only because he is meeting up with a demon bandit, but because it was a place to which his sister resides in. "The hospital." In noticing his appearance, Kurama removes himself from the wall and approaches Yusuke and greets him with a friendly voice, "Good, you came." And the two headed inside and made their way to the lifts, whilst both think of different things. 'Who is Kurama making us visit? Did he steal that mirror for a sick family member or something?' thought Yusuke as he stares at Kurama with curiosity as they enter the lift, whilst Kurama thought, 'Hopefully Akina is feeling better today and may be happy to see the two of us at the same time instead of forcing herself to stay awake for too long that it makes her health decline.'
Once the lift reaches their floor, the two get out and Kurama leads Yusuke to a door that Yusuke is familiar with, room 501, also known as Akina Urameshi's room. 'What the?!' Yusuke thinks in shock as they enter the room and see a weak looking Akina, who had just woken up after hearing the door open. She gives the two of them a weak smile and greets them as she tries to sit up, "Hey there. It's been such a long time since I've seen the two of you beside each other." Yusuke was definitely in shock to see his sister with the person he's suppose to fight, especially as he then has a flashback of that night and recalls how he ran over to a red head, who was on the road to help, and then it dawns on him that Kurama was Akina's childhood friend. 'Oh damn it!'
Kurama notices Akina's struggles, making him rush over to her and speaks urgently, "It's alright, Akina, you don't have to sit up." Akina continues to smile as she tries to reassure her worried friend, "It's not so bad, I'm feeling well today." But Kurama could tell that she was lying only to reassure him but brushes it aside as he worries that confronting her may cause a strain on her health. Instead he asks, "Shall I peel an apple for you?" Akina shakes her head and responds, "No, I'm not hungry." Kurama then shows his worry on his face and leans closer to her as he begs, "Please eat, Akina. You'll never get well without nutrition." Akina then looks down at her lap and says, "Yes...of course. It's...just so hard to remember all these things, Shuichi." And as the two interact, Yusuke stared at the two with his eyebrow twitching and looks confused. "Well try hard. I need you to get well quickly as does your brother." Kurama gently says to Akina as he starts peeling an apple for her, whilst Yusuke thinks, 'Shuichi? I thought his name was Kurama.'

The sun was beginning to set and the two boys were now on the roof of the hospital after Akina got to catch up with the two and slowly drift off and after Kurama's mother Shiori had arrived and greeted the two, before she informs the two that she will keep an eye on the sleeping Urameshi. "Shuichi is the name I've taken in my human form." Kurama calmly informs Yusuke, who stands a small distance behind him. "That woman, who is now with Akina is my mother...sort of. My father passed away years ago. For fifteen years she has brought me up, and for many years your sister has been a good friend to me, while I have deceived them." Yusuke then says, "Sorry, I'm not following." Kurama then explains in more detail, "My truest name is Yoko, I was a fox, a spirit fox gaining the powers of demons over the hundreds of years I have lived. In time I became bored and passed my arts in breaking codes and seals. Ancient treasures were my favourite sports. But fifteen years ago I made a careless mistake and was badly injured by a strong pursuer. With the last energy I had I escaped to the living world and became the child of a proud human family, knowing that if I can withstand humanity for ten years my Spirit energy would have time to recover, then I would escape without a trace."
