Eddie Sousa bounced Zola on her hip as she made sure Frankie, Connor, and Noah were eating.
"Are you sure you take all the kids today?" Eddie asked her sister, who was going over her college schedule.
"Yeah." Lia said. "Amber is coming over, she is still doing home schooling. I can't believe Alex and Riel moved back in with Meredith and Derek."
"Well, they made up. And, Mer is so lonely in that house, Alex felt bad. Plus, they were already paid for the rest of the year." Eddie said. "Isn't that right Zo-zo?"
Zola had been with her and Mark for the past few weeks, and their little niece was adapting quickly to being with Eddie and Mark. They thought it would be awkward, but, they were treating her like she was one of their own, but ,ore like an Aunt and Uncle taking care of their niece, because they both believed Zola would be back with Meredith and Derek soon.
Zola made a cute cooing sound.
Zola's case worker had very strict conditions for Eddie and Mark to keep Zola while they tried to figure out everything with Derek and Meredith. One of them being limited contact, so Zola had not been to the hospital's daycare center. And, Meredith and Derek could only be over for a few hours a week. But, it always had to be monitored by Eddie or Mark, or by the social worker herself.
"So," Lia asked she fed Noah some eggs. "What do you have on your schedule today?"
"I have some schedules that I have to go over, a regular check up, and then I have my first solo surgery for both Alec and Harmon-a Vesicoamniotic Shunt Placement. So full day. What about you?"
"I plan to take the kids down to that park down the street-possibly pick up lunch from that sandwich place, and then study when they are all napping." Lia said. "I can't believe I'm a sophomore already."
"I can't believe that Beth is going to NYU, she is a teeny-tiny freshman now." Lia said. "She is moving into the dorms today, she promised a lot of pictures."
"I know time flies." Eddie agreed, "soon you'll both be graduating."
"And then medical school for me!" Lia said proudly. Eddie smiled widely.
