The members of the taskforce stood before the two graves.
One of the graves was unnamed, it was L's grave.
Light watched as his lover kneeled down before L's unnamed grave and placed a beautiful flower bouquet there.
She bowed her head down as she spoke in a light voice.
"L.. We will catch Kira, I will make sure of it. I won't let your death go to vain... I promise.."
Light kneeled down beside his lover as he gently caressed her head.

Light sat at his desk at the taskforce headquarters. He glanced at the news which was playing on the Television.
"𝘒𝘪𝘳𝘢 𝘪𝘴 𝘧𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘦𝘥 𝘣𝘺 𝘢𝘭𝘭. 𝘈𝘯𝘺𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘸𝘩𝘰 𝘰𝘱𝘱𝘰𝘴𝘦𝘴 𝘒𝘪𝘳𝘢, 𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘎𝘰𝘥, 𝘴𝘩𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘣𝘦 𝘱𝘶𝘯𝘪𝘴𝘩𝘦𝘥. 𝘏𝘦-"
The voice cut off as Aizawa turned the TV off, clearly annoyed by the broadcast.
Light had taken in the position of L. They could not just announce that L had died to Kira, so the taskforce members mutually agreed to let Light take the place of L because of his intelligence and 'closeness' to L.
𝘓𝘪𝘵𝘵𝘭𝘦 𝘥𝘪𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘺 𝘬𝘯𝘰𝘸..
Minoru Tanaka had graduated from college. He was now 22 years old. He was working as an intern police officer and a member of the taskforce.
In the past five years, Minoru refused to tell Light L's name. Yet Light kept him by his side because he had proven himself by killing L, the biggest obstacle in Light's way, Kira's way.
(Y/n) had retired from the taskforce just two years after L's death. The investigation was at a standstill and finding Kira got seemingly more difficult and dangerous. So Light had insisted for (Y/n) to retire early. Despite (Y/n) not wanting to, Light had persuaded her so well that she agreed.
She was now Light's fiancé, the couple got engaged two months ago and they were currently living together at a nice apartment.

Light watched the taskforce of the familiar members including Aizawa, Matsuda, Mogi, Soichiro Yagami and Minoru.
His attention diverted to his cell phone which started ringing as the screen flashed his lover's name. Light smiled as he answered the call and pressed the cell phone to his ear.

"Hey love.."
"Hey honey~what are you up to?" (Y/n) replied as Light sighed.
"Nothing.. There's no new leads but we're trying our best.."
".... Oh.."
"I'm sorry sweetheart" Light said in a soft tone.
"It's okay, it's not your fault.. Did you have lunch yet?"
