A blond man with a short bob cut stood in the middle of the rather dirty room. He was adorned in black leather and chains, giving him a punk look.

He took a bite of his brown chocolate as one of his companions entered the room which was covered in mold and burnt spots.

"Mello, Takimura died.."

The blond man chewed his chocolate calmly as he chuckled.

"Good, he was getting on my nerves anyway.."

"But Mello.. How will we ask for the death note now? Our hostage is dead" the other man spoke as the blond man, known as 'Mello' turned to him.

"That's alright.. We'll just kidnap someone close to Yagami.. Hmm.. Sayu Yagami or (Y/n) Gevanni?" Mello chuckled as he let the two names slip out of his tongue.

"Let's go with Sayu Yagami, it will affect both the Yagami members in the taskforce" Mello said as his companion chuckled darkly and exited the room followed by Mello who just carelessly tossed his chocolate wrapper in the room.

𝘼𝙏 𝙏𝙃𝙀 𝙏𝘼𝙎𝙆𝙁𝙊𝙍𝘾𝙀

Ring ring.

One of the computer rings as it gets an incomming call from Takimura's cell phone.

Soichiro Yagami answers the call as Aizawa starts tracking the call.

"Hello?"

"Takimura is dead, therefore the deal for exchanging the death note will be changed" the caller says as everyone slightly tenses in the room.

"... We are offering Sayu Yagami in exchange of the death note..."

"What!?" Soichiro Yagami exclaims in shock as he tries to calm himself.

"If the taskforce contacts any other member of the police about this then Sayu Yagami will be killed just like Takimura" the call abruptly cut off as Soichiro Yagami immediately called his wife to ask about his daughter's whereabouts.

Sayu Yagami is kidnapped.

The taskforce had received another call from the kidnappers later in the evening about the death note.

Soichiro Yagami decides to take the death note to Los Angeles in exchange for his daughter.

Light registered the situation as he calls the FBI director.

Light turned on the voice distortion function as he spoke into the mic once the call was received.

"I am L, director I've heard what Larry conners had to say from deputy Yagami, will you help us with Takimura's murder investigation? " Light asked in his honey like voice which was distorted for the other person.

".... " Light hears slight shuffling from the other end as another distorted voice spoke.

"Nice to meet you, L the second"

Light's heart rate spiked up, no one except for the Japanese taskforce knows about L's death.

"Second? What do you mean?"

"We are a new organization SPK established to catch Kira without L, seven of our top members know of L's death.."

"As I said, we will no longer rely on L... That means my order to the CIA and FBI will be prioritized over L's.. "

"However, the murder of the director of NPA is an unforgivable crime.. I believe that there is a possibility that this case could lead to the arrest of Kira.." The distorted voice continued as the taskforce members listened intently.

"...I will lend you my full support"

".. No.. Actually.. I'll give you full authority to the Los Angeles hostage situation" the distorted voice finishes speaking.

After assisting Light with the Los Angeles hostage situation with Sayu Yagami, Near sat on his desk as he made a building of dice.

Both the NPA(taskforce) and the SPK failed to retrieve the notebook and Sayu Yagami. Mello won this round.

Near suddenly deliberately pushes the building he just made out of dice, causing it to collapse.

Time seems to slow down as most of the SPK members start dying out of heart attacks and suicide.

A very gruesome scene plays out in front of the albino boy. Blood of his members splatter all over the boy, causing his white shirt and hair to be stained bright red.

Only a few members remain standing alongside Near.

Near calls Light.

The bright white background with the letter N in the very familiar font shows up in Light's computer screen.

Light internally smirks as he answers the call.

"N, is everything okay"

"..." Near remains silent and so does the remaining members of the SPK.

Near glares at the screen.

"L, most of the SPK members have been killed by the notebook.. Only four of us remain.. I suggest we cooperate to catch Kira.."

Near tells Light that he suspects a teen, named Mello who used the death note for these deaths. Near lies about not having any picture of Mello despite having one.

Light fell deep in thoughts as be processed the last information by N. Mello is from the Wammy's orphanage which is one of Watari's orphanage.
