The taskforce was seemingly quiet with the only sound being the shuffling of papers every now and then.
Light could sense it. He knew Aizawa was starting to suspect Light. It was because he was informed by Aizawa himself that he would like to investigate Light.

Light stared at the large screen before him which was broadcasting a news channel. This stood out the most to Light.
The spokesperson was almost worshipping Kira and she also happened to be someone Light went to School with.

You turn the television off as you stare outside the window. It's that time of the year again. It will start snowing soon.

A loud and irritating sound echoes through the somewhat empty room. You grab your cell phone and examine the unfamiliar number flashing on the screen.
You put the cell phone to your ear after answering the call out of curiosity. It could be a scam but it could also be an emergency.
𝙊𝙏𝙋
"Hello?"
"Miss Y/N L/N is you, correct?" A highly distorted voice speaks from the other end.
You immediately tense.
𝘛𝘩𝘢𝘵'𝘴 𝘮𝘺.. 𝘉𝘪𝘳𝘵𝘩 𝘯𝘢𝘮𝘦.. 𝘏𝘰𝘸 𝘥𝘰𝘦𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘰𝘯..?
"It is you, am I correct Miss Gevanni?" The voice speaks again after not getting an answer.
"Who are you..?
"..." The person chuckles before speaking in that uncanny robotic voice again.
"You can call me.. N.. I'm the leader of SPK.. And I know that the current L is a fake"

"You... Why me?"
"Because you were one of the agents L trusted.. The real L"
You took a deep breath. L's death isn't a light information, it can almost be considered very confidential. L's grave doesn't even have his name. Even you would think that L didn't even exist if you hadn't personally seen and worked with him. No one knows L died. No one but a few people who have seen and worked with L.
Maybe this N guy is someone important. So much so that he knows about L's death.
"Okay.. But I would like to talk with you first, directly"
".. Very well, you will receive an email with the coordinates.. You know what to do after that, don't you agent Gevanni?"

The voice went static before no more sound could be heard from the cell phone.
You sighed. Was this a set up? You weren't so sure but something in you wanted to check this out.
No matter how much you'd like to deny it, Light has been acting suspicious lately.
Maybe he always was.. But you were just so blindly in love..

"Near.. Are you sure about this..?" Stephen asked with uncertainty as he watched the albino boy calmly put together a puzzle after the call with Stephen's sister.
Near remained unbothered as he refused to acknowledge the evident anxiety on his agent's words.
Near picked up a small doll as he placed it next to another doll which he named Kira, in other words Light Yagami.
"I understand your concern Gevanni.. However.. I suggest you remain vigilant even around your sister... "
"After all.. She is engaged to our suspected Kira.. Who's to say she isn't an ally to Kira?" Near finished as he watched upon his arrangement of a bunch of little dolls, each doll representing a person related to the Kira case.
Stephen fisted his hands into a ball before relaxing.
"Near.. My sister isn't like that. I'm sure you will understand once you meet her"
Near didn't reply as he just twirled a strand of his white hair. A small almost unnoticeable smirk on his face.

I apologize for the late update :( I was too bummed out for personal reasons and I just wasn't feeling good enough to write. I will try to write the remaining chapters as soon as I can.
