It had been a few days since Light met L officially. He was now laying on his bed thinking about everything that had happened.

His father had suddenly suffered from a heart attack. That's when he found out L had told his father that he suspects Light to be Kira.

It wasn't that big of a deal since his father didn't seem to have much of a reaction.

However something more 'convenient' happened.

L offered Light to join the taskforce and help them apprehend Kira. Light agreed, ofcourse.

However, he was not able to see (Y/n) properly since the past few days as he was mostly busy with the taskforce.

It was driving him nuts.

Light abruptly sat up as the Shinigami with twisted limbs looked up at Light before going back to spinning around like a dying cockroach, apparently he was having 'withdrawal symptoms' because of no apples.

But that didn't faze Light, infact he didn't care at all.

"I need to see her..." Light mumbled as he wore his jacket and went to his love interest's house just a couple of houses away.

"Light! It's been a while!" (Y/n) chirped as she hugged the young boy before her.

Light gently hugged her back, taking in the scent of her hair.

..... 𝘠𝘰𝘶 𝘴𝘮𝘦𝘭𝘭 𝘴𝘰 𝘨𝘰𝘰𝘥 𝘭𝘰𝘷𝘦... 𝘐𝘵'𝘴 𝘴𝘰 𝘢𝘥𝘥𝘪𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨.. 𝘠𝘰𝘶'𝘳𝘦 𝘢𝘥𝘥𝘪𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨.

This precious moment was ruined by someone fake coughing to catch the couple's attention, Stephen.

𝘞𝘩𝘦𝘯 𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘨𝘶𝘺 𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘷𝘦?

"Oni-chan, Light is here to visit~ can you spend some time with him? I'll get some snacks for us in the meantime"

Stephen nodded as you walked away to the kitchen. He soon diverted his eyes to Light who immediately changed his displeased expressions into ones of admiration and respect.

Stephen and Light were sitting in the living room as they engaged in small chit chats.

"So Light, I heard you're working in the Kira investigation now?" Stephen inquired as Light nodded.

"Yes that's true..."

"So how is it going?"

Light sighed, fake sighed. Ryuk stole a few apples from the fruit basket and cackled.

"There are no leads, this Kira person is good.. But that won't stop us from finding Kira and putting him to justice!"

Stephen just stared at Light with a calculative gaze but it was nowhere near as intimidating as L's gaze.

"I see, you're a hardworking man" Stephen said as he looked at the evening landscape through the large window.

Light smiled proudly.

𝘞𝘢𝘪𝘵.. 𝘐𝘧 𝘐 𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘯 𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘵𝘳𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘯 𝘮𝘢𝘺𝘣𝘦 𝘩𝘦'𝘭𝘭 𝘭𝘦𝘵 𝘮𝘦 𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘭𝘺 𝘣𝘦 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘮𝘺 𝘱𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘤𝘦𝘴𝘴, 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘴𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘮𝘢𝘵𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘺𝘸𝘢𝘺.. 𝘐𝘵 𝘸𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 𝘣𝘦 𝘫𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘦𝘢𝘴𝘪𝘦𝘳 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘣𝘦𝘵𝘵𝘦𝘳 𝘧𝘰𝘳 (𝘠/𝘯).

"I'm leaving for England in a few days.." Stephen continued as his gaze remained fixated on the landscape. The stars seemed to shy away and glow brightly again.

Light just listened in silence, he could almost guess exactly what Stephen would say next.

"Light, please take care of my sister while I'm not here... I wish I could take her to England with me but even there.."

"I understand older brother, I will protect (Y/n) with all I have, I promise" Light said sincerely as Stephen finally met Light's gaze and smiled slightly.

"Okay~ who wants cookies~?" You said as you brought a huge plate filled with various types of cookies.

Both men turned their attention towards the girl who approached them.

"Me!" Light and Stephen said at the same time as they both raised their hands, briefly meeting each other's eyes.

You chuckled at the sight.

I watched as Light helped (Y/n) set the plate and glasses on the table. He looked at her like she was the only star in the sky.

(Y/n) brightly smiled at Light and stole quick glances of him. Her cheeks slightly flushed red, hands slightly shaking.
