Next day, Light was certain that the cameras were still up in his house. He decided to visit your house as he was dropping you off just to spend some more time with you.

It was evening by the time you both reached your home from school.

Light became a bit confused at the sight he saw. There were male shoes outside and male clothes hung in your balcony.

𝘛𝘩𝘰𝘴𝘦 𝘢𝘳𝘦.. 𝘔𝘦𝘯'𝘴 𝘴𝘵𝘶𝘧𝘧... 𝘉𝘶𝘵 (𝘠/𝘯)'𝘴 𝘣𝘳𝘰𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘩𝘦𝘳 𝘧𝘢𝘮𝘪𝘭𝘺 𝘭𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘧𝘢𝘳 𝘢𝘸𝘢𝘺.

"Hey (Y/n), whose clothes are those?" Light asked the girl before him while trying to look as nonchalant as possible.

"Oh! Those are just for show"

"Just for 'show'?"

"Yes, actually you know that there has been an offender loose in our neighborhood who seems to target women who live alone... So my friend adviced me to put those up so that the offender will believe that I have a man in the house... It will reduce my chances of being targeted.." You explained to Light.

Light fell in deep thoughts.

"Oh.. (Y/n)?" Light called out to you after some time.

You turned to face the boy who was still standing.

"Hmm?"

"You know, you can stay over at my place if you feel unsafe.."

You immediately turned down the offer as you didn't want to be a bother to the Yagami family.

𝙈𝙚𝙖𝙣𝙬𝙝𝙞𝙡𝙚

"Ryuzaki, do you suspect (Y/n) of being Kira as well?" Soichiro Yagami asked the young crouched detective who stared at the screen intently which was now showing a layout of (Y/n)'s house.

"No.. However, I do believe that she is connected to Kira"

Chief Yagami was definitely offended as he realised that the detective was talking about his son, but he remained calm since he knew that his son could indeed be Kira if he wanted to.

𝙔𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙥𝙤𝙫

Light left after sometime as you forced him to go back to his respective home.

You smiled to yourself as you thought about your previous interactions, not knowing that you were being surveillanced.

You decided to bake some cookies. Odd timing but still motivation always kicks in at the oddest of times.

You went to the kitchen and started preparing the cookies. You decided to make extras to give to the Yagami family.

Suddenly you heard some sort of creaking from behind you. There was no way someone was in your house.

You must be hallucinating. That's all.. Right?

You carefully walked to the living room. Nothing, there was nothing.

You quickly grabbed your phone just incase when suddenly, in a flash of a second, an unknown man wrapped one of his hand around your neck, choking you. From the corner of your eyes you could see this man's other hand held a painfully heavy hammer.

Adrenaline rushed through you as you screamed and punched the man in his stomach with your elbow which caused him to release his grip on you.

You took this chance and ran upstairs to your room and locked it. You could hear furniture breaking and all that. You were certain the man saw you run upstairs.

What's more bizarre is that the man was dressed as 'ghostface' so you could not see his face.

You quickly dialed the first number that came to your mind with your shaky hands.

After two rings, the person answered.

"Hello? (Y/n)?"

"... L-Light.." You whispered shakily whilst crying.

"(Y/n)?! What's wrong?" Light inquired from the other end of the call.

"Light... There's someone in my house.." You cried out as you heard footsteps approaching your bedroom door.

"(Y/n) don't panic ok, I'm coming.. Where are you right now?"

"My bedroom"

"Ok stay there.. Stay on the call with me, I'm coming okay?"

"..." You could only sob quietly.

Suddenly there was loud banging on your room door. You crawled to the very end of your room and started looking for some sort of weapon as the banging only got worse.

"Ryuzaki! Are we not going to do anything!?" Soichiro Yagami yelled in frustration.

L simply pressed a button which summoned Watari.

"Watari, send police units at xxx-xxx street, house no.xxx immediately"
L simply ordered as Watari got to work.

The elder man looked towards the screen showing the petrified teenager and the desperate killer just outside her room. The only thing separating them is a thin door which will break soon as the killer started banging it with his hammer.

"I can't just sit here and watch this, I'm going to help as well" Soichiro Yagami spoke up.

"That won't be necessary" L replied.

"Ryuzaki, I must go"

L looked towards the elder and nodded in understanding.

Soichiro Yagami left for his familiar neighborhood while L kept watching the cameras.
