In the first 72 hours of Light, Minoru and Soichiro Yagami being held under surveillance, the killings entirely stopped.

Miraculously, the killings resumed just after 72 hours. Light also suddenly started acting like he was completely clueless.

L, not having enough evidence, agreed to release Light, Minoru and Soichiro Yagami from custody.

(Y/n) was more than relieved when she realized her lover could not be Kira, since he was under custody and the killings still concluded after three days.

As Light entered the familiar taskforce building, his eyes immediately searched for his beloved.

The moment (Y/n) saw Light, she ran to him and jumped up on his embrace.

As the couple shared a rather sensitive moment, L stared at them in a calculative manner.

Something was wrong.

A few more days passed as the taskforce hopelessly tried to look for any signs of Kira and their efforts did not go in vain.

They had found a lead about the new Kira, who was supposedly a member of Yotsuba. The killings were done in a way, so that all the kills benefitted one company, Yotsuba.

The killing pattern was way different than the original Kira. Therefore, L ruled out this Kira as the 3rd Kira.

As more evidence surfaced because of Light actually helping more enthusiastically, L was able to rule out a suspect.

You stood before the cluster of eight men uncomfortably, you didn't let your discomfort show of course.

You were undercover at the Yotsuba office as an upcoming actress.

None of this would've happened if Matsuda had stuck to the plan. Matsuda felt like he was 'useless' and he felt that he was being belittled by the taskforce members, so he tried to 'help' but he got caught, of course.

The men were all busy with a group of girls, L was able to manage from an acting agency. The sight was unsettling and disgusting to you but it will be over soon.

Matsuda was helplessly sitting between two members of the Yotsuba group. He shot you an apologetic look as you glared at him before returning to your act.

Soon enough Matsuda got into action, he suddenly pretended to be drunk and jumped off the balcony.

The other men were too drunk to notice Matsuda's horrible attempt at acting.

Kyosuke Higuchi ran to the balcony and looked down to see Matsuda's body lying on the cold floor about 24 floors down. The room erupted into chaos as the realization crept in when suddenly your earpiece buzzed.

"(𝘠/𝘯) 𝘨𝘦𝘵 𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦, 𝘯𝘰𝘸" L's distorted voice came through the earpiece as you quickly ran out of the room amidst the chaos.

"Matsuda.. We appreciate you but please don't do that ever again" L said in his monotone voice as Matsuda apologized multiple times.

Aizawa came in the room as he spoke.

"L, the casting agency called, they said that Higuchi called them to ask for (Y/n).."

Light immediately shot his eyes towards Aizawa and then L.

"Why does he want to see (Y/n)? L you can't possibly agree to this right?" Light asked with desperation evident in his voice.

L sighed as he turned his head towards (Y/n).

"If we want to apprehend Higuchi then we can bait him out using (Y/n).. If that's alright with you" L asked (Y/n) as she only thought about it for a second before agreeing.

"L! Is this necessary!? Can't we use some other girl from that agency?" Light snapped.

"Light.. It's okay, I'm an agent, I'm trained for these kind of stuff.." (Y/n) reassured her lover as she gently rubbed his arms in a soothing manner.

"Let's proceed with the mission then.."
