Three days had passed since the incident. Light had found out the criminal's name from the news and he gave him an exceptionally painful death.

Light was currently writing names in his death note while he solved equations on the side. This had become a daily routine for Light. He loved the idea of ridding the world of all sorts of dirt and scum.

However Light's mind soon diverted to his love interest whom he hadn't seen in a day.

Ryuk started cackling.

"Lovesick?"

Light glanced in Ryuk's direction and leaned back on his chair as he looked at the ceiling. He thought for a moment before picking up his phone and dialing his favorite person's number.

"Hello?"

Light smiled the moment he heard that honey laced voice he loved so much, it's as if she casted a spell on him.

"Hey (Y/n), what are you up to?"

"Uhm nothing much Light.. Just studying for the entrance exam"

"Ah same here, if you need any help-"

"Then I should tell you~ I know Light" you finished the sentence for him and giggled from the other end.

𝘎𝘰𝘰𝘥 𝘨𝘪𝘳𝘭

"It's getting quite late, I should go to sleep... I'll talk to you tomorrow Light!"

Light was disappointed at you for trying to cut the call early, he wanted to keep talking to you and only you.

"Alright then, see you tomorrow"

Light stared at your contact for a while after the call ended.

𝘐 𝘤𝘢𝘯'𝘵 𝘸𝘢𝘪𝘵 𝘵𝘰 𝘴𝘦𝘦 𝘺𝘰𝘶.

𝘞𝘩𝘺 𝘮𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘐 𝘸𝘢𝘪𝘵 𝘴𝘰 𝘭𝘰𝘯𝘨.

Ryuk cackled loudly like he's insane.

Light stood up and put on a jacket as he went down stairs.

Light's mother, Sachiko saw Light as he headed towards the main door.

"Light, where are you going at this hour?"

"Just to get some fresh air, I'll be back in 10 minutes"

Here Light was walking to a specific house. Your house.

He stopped in front of your house and looked up into your room through the window.

The windows were closed and the lights were on.

He was glad that at least the windows were closed.

𝘐 𝘸𝘰𝘯𝘥𝘦𝘳 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘺𝘰𝘶'𝘳𝘦 𝘥𝘰𝘪𝘯𝘨.

The lights finally turned off, indicating that you went to sleep.

Light waited for some while before he looked around. He then glanced at the window before finally leaving to his own house.

The next morning Light stood in front of your doorstep once again but this time to pick you up for school.

Light waited until the door finally opened to reveal a beautiful goddess.

"Good morning Light!" You chirped cutely at Light and beamed at him.

"Good morning!" Light smiled brightly at you.

Light started walking with you to school. He occasionally stole glances of you.

The school hours passed by in a flash. Most of the time Light kept looking at you without getting caught once.

Light was now once again walking with his love interest to their neighbourhood.

You were talking with Light about random things, things that no one else would care about except for Light of course.

Whenever you tried talking to anyone else about your interests, they always seemed uninterested unless the topic was about something that interested them, but not Light.

"Light?"

Light turned towards you with a worried expression.

"Is something wrong?"

You shook your head as a response as Light gave you a gentle smile to carry on with your conversation.

"I just wanted to thank you.. For being the best friend I ever had" you said.

You looked at Light as his expression completely died down for a second before it snapped back to that sweet caring Light that you know.

"I'm glad I could be a.. Good friend to you" Light smiled at you warmly.

𝘉𝘶𝘵 𝘐 𝘸𝘢𝘯𝘵 𝘵𝘰 𝘣𝘦 𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘦

Soon you both were standing in front of your door.

"Light, why don't you come in?" You suggested as you softly tugged on Light's arms.

Light looked at your small hands holding onto his bigger one.

"Sure" he smiled.

"Tada!~ I made cookies!" You beamed as you put the tray full of various shaped cookies on the table in front of Light.

Heart shaped cookies, cat shaped, bunny shaped, star shaped, bear shaped. You made all the shapes you could possibly make.

"Woah these look amazing (Y/n)!...It must've been a hassel" Light smiled softly at you as he took one of the heart shaped cookies and started eating it.

"Oh don't worry about it~ so how is it?" You asked Light eagerly as he looked at you.

Light smiled and gave a thumbs up to his love interest who happily beamed at him.

"It's so good!"

"Light, remember to share with everyone~!" You playfully told Light as he only chuckled in response.
