“Whoo! Listen to her purr! Have you ever heard anything so sweet” Dean's smile reached his cheeks. He seemed to beam with an abnormal amount of glee.
Back in Black by AC/DC rang through the car rattling the impala, and Dean hummed along.
“You know, if you two wanna get a room, just let me know, Dean” Sam quipped from beside his brother.
“Oh, don't listen to him, baby. He doesn't understand us” he muttered to his car, making Evangeline huff in amusement.
“You're in a good mood” Sam hummed. His eyes flickered to Dean, and while he seemed pleased at his brother's boost in mood, he was also a tad weary of it.
Evangeline was, too, but decided to look at the positive. Dean had been quite gloomy the past few days, short and snappy, so his mood wasn't something Evangeline or Sam would attempt to crash.
“Why shouldn't I be”?
“No reason”.
“Got my car, got a case, things are looking up.”
“Who would have thought,” Evangeline hummed, “a bunch of dead people and some dead animals and Dean Winchester is over the moon”.
He smirked
“How far to Red Lodge”?
“Uh, about another three hundred miles,” Sam answered.
“Good”.

“The murder investigation is ongoing, and that's all I can share with the press at this time” the sheriff assured. With his thick mustache and his way of squirming out of a question, he reminded Evangeline heavily of the sheriff in her own hometown.
“Sure, sure, we understand that, but just for the record, you found the first, uh, head last week, correct”? Sam pushed, taking on the act of a determined reporter.
Dean sat in the chair beside his brother, his eyes peering off boredly. He fiddled with his tie, and Evangeline silently smacked his hand away before adjusting his now crooked tie.
“Mm-hmm”.
She shot him a scolding look to which he returned with an eye roll. Though he complied with Evangeline, finally stopping loosening his tie messily though he debated messing it up one more time just to feel her close to him.
“Okay, and the other, a uh, Christina Flanigan” Sam went on curiously.
“That was two days ago. Is there –” A woman entered the room, Evangeline glanced back at the brunette watching her point to her watch that gleamed under the lights. “Oh. Sorry guys, time's up, we're done here”.
