─── ⋆⋅🎀⋅⋆ “Are you sure we should go in?” Evangeline murmured outside of the roadhouse. Jo and Ellen's shouts could be heard from outside, their voices carrying the screams of an argument as far as outside of their establishment.
Dean shrugged “who doesn't wanna see a catfight”.
Evangeline shot him a look, but he ignored her glare, pushing the door open.
She rolled her eyes as Sam shot her a small smirk. The hunters approached, and Evangeline was sure neither of the Harvelle's had even heard their presence based on the continuation of their yelling.
“I am your mother, I don't have to be reasonable”! Ellen screamed, her brows creased, and she looked just about ready to lurch forward and strangled Jo.
On the other hand, the blonde looked just as fed up “You can't keep me here”!
“Oh, don't you bet on that, sweetie,” she scoffed.
“What are you going to do? Are you going to chain me up in the basement”?
The trio shifted awkwardly. At least Dean and Sam can now know what it's like to be a bystander in a bad argument. She had been in the middle of Sam and Dean's as many times as not to be surprised by the screaming bar owners.
“You know what, you've had worse ideas than that recently. Hey, you don't wanna stay, don't stay. Go back to school”.
“I didn't belong there! I was a freak with a knife collection”.
“Yeah, and getting yourself killed on some dusty back road, that's where you belong”!? Ellen turned, freezing, when she caught sight of the hunters “Guys, bad time”.
“Yes, ma'am,” Sam said politely. Evangeline nodded, shooting her an awkward smile.
“Yeah, we rarely drink before ten anyway”.
They turned to leave, but a voice stopped them. “Wait. I wanna know what they think about this” Jo declared to her glaring mother, who instantly protested at the idea.
“I don't care what they think”!
The door behind them brushed opened and Evangeline was quick to turn her head, her hand moving to her dagger, but she paused when she saw a family, all dressed in matching shirts and bright smiles.
“Are you guys open”? The father asked awkwardly.
“No”!
“Yes”!
Jo and Ellen both screamed simultaneously. Evangeline shot the mother with an apologetic look.
“We'll just... check out the Arby's down the road” the father said before the family left.
