In front of the family, their older sister lies in a deep sleep. From what they can see, she has several bruises across her body. A bandage is wrapped around her head, and a cast covers her right leg. The room is filled with other victims of the storm, and compared to them, she got lucky.
"Your sister has sustained severe injuries from the storm." The doctor explains. "She has a concussion, a broken leg, and internal bleeding. We've done everything we can, but she's currently in a coma due to the pressure on her brain and the complications from her internal injuries. We need to monitor her closely and manage her pain. The coming days will be crucial in determining her chances of waking up."
Lip looks at her, somehow ending up in yet another tragedy. He wonders when it will all end—or at least slow down. In his arms is his newborn son, whom he comforts as he cries. Next to him are his siblings, and V has also managed to come along.
"Thank you for your work." V says to the doctor, who nods and wishes them luck before leaving.
Everyone stares at Fiona, wondering how she ended up like this. Meanwhile, Lip's mind is stuck on the last 24 hours. It's all been too much—Kaitlyn's death, the birth of his son, the house being wrecked, Y/N getting arrested for saving their son. It's overwhelming.
Wanting a break, he grabs Mikhail's stroller and heads outside to take a smoke.
Everyone notices his sudden departure, all knowing how hard this has been for him. Understanding that someone needs to talk to him, Ian quickly volunteers. The redhead follows his older brother into the elevator just before it closes. As he slips through the doors, he stands next to his brother.
"Hey. Where's Y/N?"
"He's... under arrest."
Ian looks surprised, especially since Y/N saved the baby.
"Charged with manslaughter... What a fucking joke. There are thousands of people committing heinous crimes and getting let go, but they draw the line at someone saving a fucking baby!?"
Mikhail and the newborn cry in response to Lip's yelling. The blonde immediately feels guilty—he didn't want to upset his sons. Once the elevator reaches the ground floor, Ian offers to take the stroller.
As they walk toward the entrance, the younger man speaks up.
"But Y/N is going to be fine, right? The court has to understand that he saved the baby—he didn't want to kill Kaitlyn."
"The cops mentioned something about negligence." Lip sighs tiredly. "I still need to find him a lawyer."
Ian can tell Lip is struggling. His eyes remain fixed on his son, trying to soothe him.
"I can watch them." Ian offers.
Lip looks at his brother.
"Once we're back home, get a lawyer and take a break. You're a mess, and you're only going to get worse if you don't."
Lip thinks about it, reluctant to leave his sons behind. But Ian is right. He remembers what Y/N said—to take one step forward, you sometimes have to take one back.
"...Alright."

Back home, Lip is quick to call multiple companies to get his house fixed. The tired man sits on his bed, with his children left in Ian's care. At least his bedroom seems to be okay. He keeps glancing at the corner of the room, remembering what happened...
