The married couple aren't sure how best to tell their children that they'll be moving to Ireland. They don't know how the kids will react. Some will definitely be happy about getting a better house, while others are more sentimental and want to stay. No matter how they say it, it won't go smoothly. Knowing this, they decide to just say it.
During dinner one evening, the family is eating healthy burritos made by the usual cook, Y/N. Everyone seems to enjoy the meal—except Kate, who insists on eating something 'healthier' to watch her already thin weight and instead sticks to a salad. Still, the parents still make sure she get the proper nutrients by putting different kinds of food within the salad.
After exchanging a glance, Y/N gives his partner a nod, knowing Lip would be better at breaking the news.
"There's something we need to tell you."
The kids look up at their fathers, some of them already hopeful.
"Are we getting a dog!?" Fred asks excitedly.
"No." Y/N replies, and Fred immediately looks dissapointed.
"I finally get my own room?" Kate asks next.
"No."
"You're getting a divorce?" Mikhail adds.
Before either Lip or Y/N can respond, Kate blurts out. "Then I want to live with the rich dad!"
"We are not getting a divorce." Y/N says firmly. "Let your dad finish."
"Thank you." Lip looks from his husband back to the kids, all of them watching closely. "During the business trip, I was offered a promotion—to become branch managers in Ireland. And I accepted."
"We're moving to Ireland!?" Maksim interrupts.
"...Yeah."
Just from their expressions alone, the reactions are clearly mixed. Mikhail smirks. Maksim and Kate grin widely. Lyn looks intrigued and satisfied. Alyosha's face falls, and Fred frowns deeply.
"So I am getting my own room!?" Kate asks eagerly.
"Maybe." Y/N answers. "We still need to buy a house."
"Can we finally live somewhere rich, like Kim Kardashian?" Kate presses.
"Not like that, but somewhere big. At least bigger." Lip replies, relieved at how smoothly things seem to be going—without fully noticing the two kids who are clearly struggling.
"Why didn't you tell us sooner!?" Fred snaps. "I should get a say in where I live!"
"We got the offer during the trip." Y/N explains calmly. "And we thought this would be best for all of us."
"What's good about leaving my friends!?" Fred looks at his siblings, who mostly stare back at him like he's overreacting. Only Alyosha seems to silently agree with him. "Why aren't you with me?"
"Because this house sucks." Kate says bluntly. "I deserve a mansion. I wish it were in Japan, but I guess I'll settle."
"I'm curious about the Irish environment." Lyn says thoughtfully. "Just imagine how different the local flora must be."
"Lower legal drinking age." Mikhail adds.
"I want my own room too." Maksim says.
Fred stares at them, disbelief written all over his face. Lip gently places a hand on his shoulder, but Fred pulls away.
"We're moving in January next year." Lip says softly. "We still have a year left, and we'll make it the best one possible."
"I don't care!" Fred suddenly stands up. "I just want to stay!"
