It's August 13 — a year since the first wedding was supposed to happen. As Lip arrives at the wedding venue, he reflects on that day: how upset Y/N was when the wedding didn't go through, the major rift it created because Lip felt too guilty to admit he didn't want to get married until the very last moment. A lot has happened since then, and although the Gallagher was in love with his partner, he wasn't sure he was truly the one. It seemed strange to him at first to marry another man, but now it just feels logical.
The Russian has always been there for him. Despite all the arguments and fights, they still love each other. Lip can't name a single person who has supported him more than Y/N. Unlike a year ago, the blonde now looks forward to marrying him — the way Y/N makes him happy, the way he takes care of him. The groom feels that no matter what happens, his upcoming husband will always be at his side.
Together with his fiancé, they push two buggies where the youngest children are sitting. Their whole family is with them as well — the Gallaghers, Kev and V and their kids, plus Mickey and Vlad. The two older children share another buggy pushed by Ian. They all look around the same wedding venue from last year, now shining brightly once again.
"We're finally doing this..." As everyone walks around and chats, Y/N stands beside his fiancé, smiling big at the altar. "Finally, we're going to get married."
Lip feels excited, though it's nothing compared to Y/N's enthusiasm.
"This means a lot to you, huh?"
"Yeah. It just..." Y/N struggles to find the right words. "It means that you want to be with me for the rest of my life. That you're willing to commit your life to mine."
As Lip thinks about his fiance's past, he realizes he shouldn't be surprised. Y/N committed instantly to a relationship with a drunk man simply because he never experienced real love before. For all the chaos they deal with now, it's nothing compared to what the Russian lived through.
"Even if we weren't getting married, we'd stay together." Lip assures him, and Y/N smiles back. "Always."
"Shit like that always makes me feel... happy."
Y/N leans in to kiss him. Lip kisses back, content — until the simple kiss turns deeper. When he feels his butt being grabbed and something hard press against him, the smaller man breaks away.
"Y/N — take a break."
"C'mon."
"We already did it way too much this morning. We can do it after we become husbands."
Y/N pulls back, liking that idea even more. "Fine."
Lip chuckles. Ever since they got engaged, Y/N's sex drive skyrocketed. The blonde knows that when the Russian feels appreciated and loved, he expresses it through lust, using it as an outlet — and the Gallagher doesn't mind. It's the best sex he's ever had, especially because Y/N is willing to do anything.
"We can do it as many times as you want when we're husbands." Lip promises, and Y/N smiles wide. "But first, we have to wait until it all starts."
"Right." Y/N looks toward the children. Since they'll be split up into different rooms with their best men and important guests, that leaves deciding where the kids go. "So, who do they go with?"
Lip already thought that through. "How about Mik and the girls go with you, and I take the boys?"
"Basically, biological children go to the biological father?"
"Yeah. Since we're getting married, I thought it would be... symbolic or something, that we become one family." Y/N understands, though Lip feels like he explained it awkwardly. "I mean, not like we weren't before. I just—"
