With pre-summer break arriving, so came the family's yearly tradition: visiting Kev and V in Kentucky. The flight took a while, but once they finally arrived, it was always worth it. Lip always felt better when he saw them. They were some of the few people from his past still part of his life.

So now, with his husband, seven kids, and a mountain of luggage, they stood in front of the door.

"Y/N!"

Kev rushed forward to greet his brother, pulling him into a tight hug. His wife, V, stood beside him, greeting everyone else as Lip and the kids responded warmly. After a few seconds, Kev pulled back—only to notice the baby in his brother-n-law's arms.

"Aww! He's so cute!" Kev grinned widely. "Can I hold him? Please? Please?"

"Knock yourself out."

With excitement, Kev carefully took his new nephew into his arms. "Look at the little guy. Who's my little guy? You are. Yes, you are."

"Back on baby fever?" V teased with a smirk.

"Let me have this." Kev shot back before turning toward the house. "Girls! Uncle Y/N and Lip are here! Come meet your new nephew, Jesse!"

As Kev headed inside with the baby, Y/N gestured for the rest of the children to follow. That left both fathers to carry the luggage, with V stepping in to help.

As the children hang around outside, the parents sit on the porch, enjoying the sun. Drinks rest on the side tables as they watch the six kids catch up with Amy and Jemma, now ten years old.

Kev still holds Jesse, refusing to give him back.

The mood is light—until the conversation shifts to Y/N.

"September, huh?" V comments.

"Yeah, but it's just surgery." Y/N says, still completely unfazed.

"Just surgery?" Kev chuckles. "You are one tough son of a bitch."

Y/N grins. "The doctor said I've got some scar tissue in my lungs. It's basically restricting my breathing. For now, they've got me on some meds, plus... uh... what's it called again?"

"You mean pulmonary rehabilitation?" Lip supplies.

"Yeah, that." Y/N looks back at Kev and V. "Basically some breathing exercises."

"And you really don't feel any pain?" V asks, surprised. "Or fatigue? Anything?"

"Nope. Not really."

Lip thinks back to all the times Y/N got hurt and brushed it off. Once, his siblings told him his husband had shattered a glass in his hand and barely reacted, even with shards stuck in his skin.

"Yeah... Y/N's got a high pain tolerance..."

"That's my little brother." Kev says proudly. "And don't worry about the surgery."

Y/N smiles back—until Kev speaks again a few seconds later.

"But just in case you die—and somehow Lip dies too—can I have Jesse?"

V shoots him a glare. "Kev!"

"I'm just asking!" Kev defends himself, while Lip rolls his eyes and Y/N doesn't seem bothered. "I just want a son. That's all."

"Even if we're both dead?" Lip asks flatly.

"Yeah..." Kev shrugs. "I mean, I wouldn't be happy about it, but I wouldn't say no."
