Ch 97. A Chaotic 'Brother Hangout Day"

It's the day after Christmas. With things looking brighter for the Gallagher siblings, they spend most of their time together. Not just them, but Y/N and Kev too. Thus, as they play Pico Park with the older brother's daughters and Alyosha, Maksim, Kate, and Fred, they mostly have big smiles on their faces.

"No! Why did you move!?" Kate complains as they manage to fail the level again.

Amy frowns at Kate. "I'm sorry, it was an accident."

"You said that the first time."

"Kate." Y/N sternly speaks up, with his daughter looking back. "Cut it out. We're trying to have fun." Kate sighs as she looks back at the screen.

Thus, as they retry the level again, the children try to correct themselves and criticize each other just to beat the level. As they plan out their strategy, the two fathers talk to each other.

"I kinda miss this." Y/N comments. "It's been months since we hung out."

"You remember when we tried hanging out every month, just the two of us?" Kev remembers fondly their first official Brother Hangout Day. That day they went to a forest to camp, and for whatever reason Vlad was sticking with them as well.

"Yeah... last time was before you left..." Y/N remembers holding back tears when his brother left to move to Kentucky. They decided to make a photo book together, as well as a time capsule for each other to open later in life.

Kev looks aside, remembering too how hard it was to leave. "It's going to be harder this time."

"I know..." Y/N mutters.

Feeling sympathetic for his brother, the bartender gets an idea. "How about we have a Brother Hangout Day?" he suggests, with Y/N looking back at him. "Just like the old times."

A soft smile creeps onto the younger man's face. "I would love that."

As both brothers smile happily, the sincere moment gets ruined by yelling.

"Pa, hurry up!"

"We're having a good moment, Kate." Y/N instantly returns to his stern dad act. "Don't ruin it."

Coming from the kitchen with a glass of orange juice in his hand, Mikhail stands near the group. Having heard what just happened, he speaks up.

"Do I need to remind you how stress makes your hair fall off?"

Instantly looking concerned, Kate grabs her hair. Y/N looks back at his oldest son. "Quit it, Mik." While the 9-year-old boy smirks, his father looks back at his daughter. "Ignore him. He's just messing with you."

With other people hanging about, Vlad joins in. He leans on the couch, right between the two brothers. "You know how gay it sounds every time you have these Brother Hangout Days?"

Kevin takes offense. "You're just jealous Y/N likes me more than you."

"Great comeback." Vlad responds before looking at his younger brother. "You're leaving me as well. Can't I get one of these Brother Hangout Days?"

Before Y/N can respond, Kev speaks up, sounding annoyed. "No. That's our thing."

"Don't be an ass, Kev." Y/N responds with snark. "Vlad is still my brother. How about we make it a three-way thing?" He suggests.

While Kev looks disappointed, Vlad speaks up with a smile. "An excellent idea. Didn't expect anything better." He then looks back at Kev. "Don't you agree, Kev?" The man merely frowns, not responding.

"Wait, you're hanging out?" They all look back to see Carl speaking up. "We barely hang out since I came here. You're my best friend, so let's chill."

With the schedule getting tighter and wanting to spend time with his children as well, Y/N gets an idea. "Well... since you're my brother-in-law, I guess that counts too for hanging out with my brothers."
