With Mandy freed from her old life, it was time for the next part of her recovery. Since she now lived in the house, they put the spare bed in the girls' room, where she would sleep from now on. Intending to get her life together, Lip gave her a job as his secretary.
From the windows of his office, he saw Y/N explaining the job to Mandy, who was now sitting at his desk.
"Basically, you just need to answer phone calls, write down any messages, and transfer the calls to Lip. If you need any information, you can find it on the PC." Y/N gently tapped the computer. "Any questions?"
"No. Sounds easy."
"You say that, but sometimes the people on the other end of the phone are annoying. Be warned."
Mandy snorted. "Thanks. I'll keep that in mind."
"Good. If you need any help or have any questions, I'm always around, and Lip is mostly in his office. Good luck."
"Thanks."
Y/N walks away and then entered Lip's office. The blonde was still surprised by how well they got along. He would've never imagined his husband becoming friends with one of his exes. Then again, if there were any ex he'd get along with, it would be Mandy. He briefly wondered what he would do if Karen ever came back with her old personality. He took a lucky guess he'd probably run her over too.
"Someone finally got a friend."
"You're saying it like I have none."
"Kev and V don't count." Y/N was about to argue when Lip interrupted. "And Brad is my friend, so that doesn't count either."
"Yes, it does."
"Really?" Lip looked at Y/N, daring him to continue. "Do you ever call or text him?"
"That doesn't matter." Lip couldn't help but smirk as Y/N dismissed the point. The personal assistant walked over and leaned against the desk. "She's all settled in. I doubt she'll have trouble doing the job."
"Thanks." Lip looked grateful at his husband. "It means a lot that you're okay with this."
"Helps that I learned a lot of dirt about you." Y/N replied smugly. Lip wasn't sure he wanted to know what exactly. "I didn't know you once stole a car."
"Blame Fiona's ex for that." Lip felt like that was the lightest thing Mandy had mentioned. "Can you at least stop telling her things about... us?"
"Like the fact that you like tall, muscular men?" Y/N placed a hand on his husband's lap, making Lip sigh. "Someone who can take care of you and protect you. Someone who can do things girls can't."
"And you still feel insecure about not having boobs." Lip chuckled. "Seems like you know what I like."
"Do I?" Y/N squeezed his thigh slightly. "Guess I do."
After taking a deep breath, the boss spoke up. "Close the shutters."
With a smirk, Y/N walked over to the windows and closed them. Mandy glanced back from her desk, only rolling her eyes and smirking before continuing her work.

Back at school, the kids continued doing what they usually did. Mikhail was already forming a new plan, with Fred tagging along. Alyosha was drawing while Lyn sat next to her, working on her latest research project.
Kate, however, was trying to distance herself from her family—for a particular reason.
"Why does your brother eat so much?"
