As everyone sat around the table having breakfast, the usual chaos filled the kitchen. Ian stood up, walking over to the fridge to grab something to drink, but the moment he opened it, he froze.
"Why the hell is the fridge so full?"
"Because tomorrow is Victory Day." Y/N replied casually as he ate his breakfast.
Fiona, along with the rest of the group, looked confused. "What's Victory Day?"
"It's the date when Russia defeated Nazi Germany. I plan to celebrate it with a feast."
"We're celebrating communist holidays now?" Mickey was quick to mock Y/N's tradition.
"Without Russia, the Nazis would still exist." Y/N shot back, defending his homeland.
"Did you forget the U.S. exists?" Lip chimed in as he held his son. "You know, the country you're living in?"
"I know they helped too." Y/N replied like he doesn't care too much. "There's going to be a parade. I'm planning to watch it online. Want to join?"
Though not particularly eager to dive into Russian culture, Lip still wanted to support his fiancé. "Sure."
"Cool. It starts at 3 A.M."
"3 A.M!?" Lip nearly choked. "I've got school!"
"Why would Russia even do a parade at 3 A.M.?" Mickey asked with his mouth full of food. "Are they stupid or something?"
Y/N blinked, confused at the question. "You do know time zones exist, right?"
"You just made that up."
Y/N let out an exhausted sigh. "Can any of you help with the decorations?"
A chorus of half-hearted 'no's' came from around the table, which only made Y/N more irritated.
"I'm not celebrating some Russian holiday." Debbie said flatly, not even looking up from her plate.
Ian sat back down, shaking his head. "Especially not for Russia."
Y/N frowned. "Well, excuse me, but Russia has more culture than America."
Fiona snorted. "You serious?"
"Yeah. What do you celebrate? Thanksgiving? Who the hell gives a shit about Thanksgiving?" Y/N was met with collective eye-rolls from the table. "Like, who thought eating a turkey was a great idea?"
Mickey fake-coughed. "Not communists."
Y/N shot him a glare. "What I hate about you Americans is how ignorant you are." The room offered a mix of shrugs, eye-rolls, and indifferent stares. "You all view the world through your dumb patriotic eyes. Somehow, you all know your fifty states, but I bet some of you can't even point to Belgium on a map."
Lip scoffed, thinking the answer was obvious. "It's in Europe."
"Yeah? Name the countries around Belgium." Y/N challenged.
Lip hesitated. "Well... France, Germany... and that one country above."
Y/N raised an eyebrow, amused by Lip trying. "Yeah? What country?"
"...The one with the Dutch people."
"Dutchland!" Mickey proudly answered, thinking he'd nailed it.
Everyone stared at him, dead silent, fully aware that 'Dutchland' wasn't a real place.
Y/N sighed deeply and turned to Lip. "Fine. 'Dutchland.' What else?"
The student looks unsure. "...There's another country?"
