I smile, standing next to Y/n as we leave the house.
"That went really wel-"
She suddenly groans, covering her face with her hands. My eyes widen.
"Whoah hey what's wrong?"
"I did not do well"
"What? No you did amazing!"
"No"
"Yes"
"No"
"Come on Y/n you did great. They liked you!"
"But she went through all the effort to make the meal that No one enjoyed"
I shudder, remembering the meat jelly.
"Yeaaah, but she was happy to. Besides she couldn't tell you didn't like it. Proper poker face" I chuckle as we continue walking.
"I am not sure"
"Well I am sure. And I think u did perfect. You didn't have to be so nervous. You've met them before"
"But this was different."
"I know but you did great. They loved you I promise"
She nods, standing up straight, hands doing her weird thumb thing again.
"I do not know why I was...nervous...It is just my friends parents"
Yeah...friends...
"Yeah but it makes sense. It's normal to be nervous. You don't have to pretend you werent"
"I know"
"Then why did you?"
She stays silent for a moment before simply just shrugging.
I nod not wanting to press any further.
"But hey! I had alot of fun" I grin.
"You did? It felt very akkard- Awwkward" She clears her throat correcting herself making me chuckle.
"It was great don't worry about it"
She nods and we walk in silence for a few moments, making our way to the bus stop. Her house is to far away to walk.
"So" I start, breaking the silence. "I did have...something to say"
She looks down at me, still keeping to her pace.
"Yes?"
I sigh, rubbing the back of my neck.
"I'm sorry, for distracting you at the first licence exam. I know my...my joke. Was dickish"
She stays quiet again. She probably doesn't know how to respond.
"And I'm sorry for being the reason you failed-"
"You was not"
"Huh?"
"I did not know what to do with the saving people. I was messing up. That was my fault. Ur joke..had nothing to do with it"
My eyes widen.
"Wait seriously?"
"I did not know what to say to the people. That is not ur fault"
"...You mean it?"
She nods.
"Yes"
I stay silent, almost like the weight is suddenly off my shoulders.
"Well...I'm still sorry about the joke"
"It is fine. It was a joke"
"Yeah...a joke..." I mumble, then we stand at the bus stop. "Are you sure you're gonna be okay walking alone in those woods?"
"I will be okay"
"You promise?"
She looks down at me. Before holding up her pinky.
"Pinky promise. You said that they meant alot to you. So..I pinky promise"
My eyes widen. She remembered that?!
I laugh, sitting on her bed.
"I look dumb!!"
"You do not"
"Yesss I do!!"
"Denki you look fine"
I hold up my pinky.
"Pinky promise?"
She looks at my pinky strangely.
"Are you 5?"
"Wha- oi!" I laugh, still keeping up my hand. "Pinky promises are sacred. They mean alot to me. So if I don't look dumb, pinky promise me" She looks at me for a moment before interlocking our pinky's.
"Pinky promise"
I hold out my thumb.
"You gotta lock it in"
"Lock it in?"
"Yeah, you pinky promise, then stick out ur thumb and kiss it to lock it in"
"Oh" then she does the same before we kiss our thumbs.
I chuckle then interlock our pinkies, sticking out our thumbs.
"If your sure" then we kiss our thumbs.
"I am sure."
