The girls followed Mister Dred to the living room where the TV was already turned on. Camie didn't understand what he wanted to show them on the news but soon her silent question got answered.

"Taken hostage this morning at a downtown bank-"

The TV showed a bank on the other side of the city surrounded by police cars.

"A group identifying themselves as The True Gold has claimed responsibility. They're demanding the release of previously captured villains... And publicly declaring allegiance to the fugitive known as Black Gold."

The screen showed footage of a group of five people, dressed in black, their faces uncovered, walking into the bank. They didn't have weapons on them but as soon as they entered the bank, the images showed flashes through the windows.

"Power holders..."

Camie bit her lower lip but Théa gently grabbed her hand and started rubbing her palm. The screen suddenly went back to the presentator as she was covering her left ear:

"Breaking news. The group known as The True Gold has sent an additional video, showing their actions inside the bank. It's raw footage from the villains themselves, and the authorities have confirmed that the hostages are still alive, though badly injured. We warn our viewers that the content of this video is disturbing."

The screen cut to black before showing a shaky video. The scene showed the interior of the bank. Several hostages were laying on the ground, visibly bruised, blood staining their clothes and faces. Their hands were tightly bound, and their eyes were wide with terror, if not gently closed. One man, barely conscious, was dragged into view by a short and purple haired man. He had a smirk on his lip. A very ugly one:

"Hello there. I hope that I am filming my best profile. This is our new world. No more heroes. No more lies. We stand with Black Gold. She has shown us the way. A way where power isn't given, but taken. We don't need your rules, your laws, or your heroes. Black Gold taught us that we can take control. We can take what we deserve, and no one will stop us."

When the hostage struggled too much, the villain pushed him to the ground.

"This is what Black Gold really wants. She taught us that we don't have to be their pawns anymore. We don't need their approval. We can take what we want. We'll show them what happens when they think they can control us. Black Gold's fight isn't just for power; it's for freedom. And we'll do whatever it takes to make her proud."

Camie could feel Théa clenching her fists. Seeing her angry made Mister Dred nod:

"I thought you should know. These people are using Black Gold to justify their horrible actions. I don't think she would like that."

Théa's jaw was closed tightly. Camie couldn't help touching her face. Feeling her skin, Théa's eyes immediately shot back into focus. She got lost in Camie's eyes for a second, having completely forgotten about the attack. Camie wanted to ask if she was ready but no sounds came out of her mouth. She didn't need to talk because Théa understood. She smiled and grabbed Camie's hand on her cheek before kissing her palm.

Camie got so surprised that her whole body froze. Her heart was beating way too fast and she couldn't look away. She could see Théa's lips touching her skin and she could feel how soft they were. In fact they were all she could see. All she could feel. She couldn't help imagining what it would feel like to be kissed by those lips. No! She had to stop thinking about such things. She had to stop blushing. She had to focus.

Seeing Camie so flustered made Théa laugh.

"Thank you. I feel way better.

-I... Hum... I... You... We?"

She laughed even more before finally straightening up.

"I am sorry. I have to go. I won't be long. Could I come back here afterwards?"

Camie was still way too hung up on Théa's lips and didn't hear anything that had been said. Fortunately her father answered. Wait, was her father still there?

"You are always welcome here, Théa.

-Thank you."

Camie followed Théa to the door, having still not let go of her hand. Théa opened the door but still didn't let go of Camie and turned back towards her.

"I don't want to go."

That finally woke her up:

"Then you don't have to! You can always stay here. I am sure that someone else will take care of it. Black Gold is on a well deserved break."

Théa smiled gently.

"No... I have to go but I just can't bear to leave you behind."

Théa looked down at Camie's hand, slowly rubbing her ring finger.

"Especially when you are looking at me like this."

Having her suddenly look up made Camie flinch. She didn't run away but she did start looking elsewhere, trying her best to avoid that weird feeling.

"Camie?

-Yes?

-Why aren't you looking at me?

-I am looking at you.

-You are looking at a coat Camie.

-I... It just looked dirty. I should probably wash it.

-Aren't you going to look at me?"

She sounded so pitiful that Camie couldn't help looking back at her. But as soon as their eyes met, she felt that same feeling down there and she couldn't help looking away again.

"Sorry, I...

-Am I that ugly? Don't you want to look at me?

-You are not ugly! How could you say that? You are the most beautiful woman I have ever seen. When I look at you my reward circuit is firing. The most beautiful soul ever. You are shining inside and out. You are the Sun. I can't look at you because you are too bright."

Théa started laughing.

"Is that why you can't look at me?

-I..."

Having suddenly realized what she had said, Camie started blushing. Scrap that. At that point she never stopped blushing all together. She didn't remember her skincolor anymore.

"I thought you didn't look at me because you felt flustered.

-I am not!"

Who was she kidding? Camie was so red at that point that she could have been mistaken for a bomb.

"You are so cute."

Théa wasn't helping and Camie started balancing from one leg to the other.

"D-don't y-you have t-to go?

-Do you want me gone so badly? I thought you wanted me to stay."

Camie bit her lower lip:

"You can stay. But don't worry even if you leave, I will always wait here for you."

Théa suddenly let go of Camie's hand and covered her face. Camie missed her warmth and looked down at her hand with a little pout:

"Camie... Please don't look at me like that because I will never be able to leave."

She took her hand off but didn't look at Camie when she went on:

"I will be back as soon as possible."

She hesitated a second before saying.

"Please wait for me."

Seeing Théa flustered made Camie feel way better and she even laughed:

"Don't worry. I will always wait for you, Théa."

The latter clicked her tongue before forcing herself to turn away.
