Chapter 3

Sabrina’s POV

I stared out my small window into the lights of the city. Two years, it had been two years since I had broken out. I hate being cooped up. I needed to get out and walk. I walked out my door into the dark and put my hood up, invisible, that’s what I felt like.

Slowly I walked past a block or two, when I heard a whistle.

“Hey babe!!!” I heard a guy say as he grabbed my arm. He reeked of tobacco and booze, perfect..

“You don’t want to get involved with me.” I said not looking at the man.

“Trust me, I do.” he said tighten the grip on my arm.. that set me off.

I stared at him, I felt the power build up in me, I knew what was happening.

“Whoa what’s up with your eyes?” one of the other guys said. I knew they were changing.. going from my deep green to ice white.

“You have one last chance.” I said quietly

“Not giving up that easy toots.” the guy holding my arm said

“Suit yourself” I said shrugging my shoulders.

The power came out, I used the energy to push up on my heels and back flip over the man, flinging him to the ground.

Three other guys came running towards me with knifes, I pushed up again, doing a round kick,  taking them out. There was four of them left. One of the bigger guys had a gun an he ran towards me, he was just to my face when I put up a shield.

I saw his face press against it like glass. I put another one behind him and squeezed the two closer, suffocating the man. I watched him collapse to the ground... dead.

The other three men took out guns and started shooting. I put up a shield like a dome around me, protecting me everywhere. The bullets absorbed into it like shooting into a giant dome of jello, but instead they just turned to dust.

I quickly pressed the dome out like a shock wave, knocking the men to the ground.

“I warned them.” I said walking away, my hood fallen down now.

My knees buckled and blew out from underneath me. I fell to my knees and vomited. Quickly I pulled the needle out of my pocket in my sweatshirt and injected it into my leg.

Gaging I stood up and wiped the fluid from my mouth. I knew that I was dying.. I knew what was killing me. There was no turning back now.. I needed to find the others.
