Chapter 25

Sabrina’s POV

Only I, Brett, and Josh knew how to drive. It surprised me that Becky didn’t. But I wasn’t surprised that only three of us knew how, you can’t really take drivers lessons while locked up in an experiment center.

So, we split into groups. Me, Steven and Janelle in one group. Brett took Alice and the twins. Josh took Becky, Nick and Katelyn.

Becky led us to the garage and swiped her key card to open the door. There were a few Jeeps, some vans and a Lamborghini. Marks I figured.

“I call Lamborghini.” Josh said raising his hand

“Lamborghini’s only have two seats brainiac.” Brett said

 “Sh*t I forgot.” He said and Brett chuckled

I jumped in a Jeep, and Steven called shotgun so Janelle sat in the back. Josh also took a Jeep after his disappointment from his Lamborghini episode. But Brett grabbed a Van.

Beck swiped her key card into a box and pulled a wall safe open that held the keys. She grabbed the keys that were needed and she was about to shut it when I saw a GPS.

“Grab a GPS!” I shouted and she grabbed one and handed out the keys and handed the GPS to me.

I didn’t know the exact address of the experiment center but I figured the Stone would lead us to it.

“Okay everyone follow me.” I said starting the engine

I knew that we would have to stop for gas at sometime and maybe even to sleep. I knew I could drive for almost forever to get to California, but I didn’t know about Josh or Brett. The one thing I was worried about was money.

Becky had to have some cash on her, but since she was confined into a facility after they started testing on her that thought faded.

We stopped to stretch after about four hours of driving and Becky came up to me.

‘I was thinking about money issues,” she said walking up to me

“Same.” I said sitting on the curb of the parking lot of a park we were in.

“They gave me a credit card when I started working, I haven’t used it much because I wasn’t allowed out much, but I still have it.” She said all in one breath

“Okay,” I said sighing “We’re gonna need to get some food in about an hour. And we’re gonna need to find a bank, I need you to withdraw as much money as you can.”

Once we left the park we stopped to get some fast food. I wasn’t hungry and Steven begged me to eat something but I ordered just a coffee anyways. There was a bank down the road from the restaurant so Josh and Becky went to use the ATM while I stayed with everyone else.

When they came back she handed me a couple of hundred dollar bills. I was sitting at a table next to everyone else sipping on my coffee.

“It only let me withdraw two thousand.” She said smiling

I let out a sigh of relief and bit my lip “We have to destroy it because if we use it again they might track us.”

“How do we want to do that?” Josh asked

“I have an idea.” I said smiling “Katelyn!”

She walked over to me chewing gum “What?” she asked

“Can you disintegrate this?” I asked handing her the credit card.

That card was never seen again after she gripped it in her hand.
