Chapter 40
Glen’s POV
These people seemed a little odd to me. Sabrina, the girl who I first saw, she was powerful. But there was something she was hiding. I could tell because I’m the expert at hiding things. We were going around meeting the like ten other “experiments” that had tagged along with the fiery red head. But honestly, I kinda liked her, probably cause she was so headstrong.
“And this is Brett.” She said ushering me over to a very large guy who looked like he was in his mid to late twenties.
I took his hand and shook it. As his tight grip shook my hand I could feel the darkness in him, quickly I pulled away and gave him a glare. He smirked and crossed his arms.
“I know this may sound rude, but do you have any food?” Haley asked, geez was she always hungry?
“Umm, no.” the red head began “But we were planning on stopping at a motel for the night and then Steven and I were going to go food shopping.”
“Sure bets the park.” I said
I walked over to Kayla and whispered in her ear. “Are you sure we want to stay in a motel with these guys?” I asked
“Like you said, sure bets the park.” She mumbled
“Oh and I forgot,” Sabrina exclaimed “This is Becky.”
From behind her, a blond hair girl walked out. There was something about her that wasn’t like the others.
“What’s your power?” I asked shaking her hand
“I don’t know,” she smiled “I don’t even know if I have one.”
Quickly I dropped her hand. “She’s not a mutant?” I asked turning towards Sabrina, who Steven was now at her side, I swear that boy was stuck like Velcro to her.
“Becky, is… was… a scientist.” Sabrina mumbled
“What?!” Kayla screamed pushing Haley behind her “I knew it! I knew it was a trap.”
“No, calm down!” Steven screamed “It’s not like that.”
“I’m on your side!” Becky screamed, trying to walk towards Kayla.
“Prove it.” Kayla demanded still being super cautious
“She’s been with us since I got everyone who wanted to out of the lab, she got us the cars, and the money.” Sabrina said, sincerity in her voice
Kayla sighed and relaxed a bit. “What motel are we going to?” she asked and everyone started walking towards the Jeeps and Van.
