So.... here's a long chapter!! Hope you guys like it! I'm back from Vaca, but school starts on Tuesday so that means less writting time. :( Enjoy!
I leaned against the wall and pulled my knees up to my chest. I was sitting in a hallway in the second story of Josh's uncle's house. I knew it wasn't the smartest idea, being alone with a possible assassin on the loose, But I couldn't face the others. Not yet. The others were all downstairs, waiting for Sabrina to get better. Or for me to give a command.
Whichever came first. Katelyn was not helping, either. After Sabrina regained consciousness, she pulled me off to the side and whispered to me, "You think this is over, don't you? You think you've won! But, let me tell you, this is just beginning. You'd better watch your back, because I know where you sleep at night." I had then decided that I didn't like Katelyn, and added her to my list of enemies, which seemed to be growing as the days progressed. Katelyn was probably downstairs right now holding a war meeting against me. Oh well. Bring on the angry lynch mobs!
"Hey, a pity party! Can I join?"
"Go away, Glen." Glen had mysteriously appeared out of nowhere and sat down next to me.
"Hey, Kayla. We miss ya. Haley's freaking out, saying you've been kidnapped or something and Katelyn is plotting ways to kill you and stuff." Glen said. He held a glass of water out to me. cautiously I took it.
"How do you know Katelyn's plotting my death?" I asked.
"She's watching '100 ways to die' and muttering 'yes, yes, that'll work.' every five seconds." Glen replied. I shuttered and took a sip of water. When I didn't choke, I took another sip. "Hey, Kayla, just say the word and I'll take care of that B**ch. I'll make it look like an accident or something." Glen said. I chuckled and took another sip.
"What is that chick's problem, anyway?" I asked.
"Well, she has a crush on Josh." Glen explained.
"What?" I asked, confused.
"Oh, you don't know, do you? Well, ever since the Big Escape, where Sabrina's little group made like Houdini and slipped through the bars, Katelyn has had a huge crush on Josh. But Josh doesn't share Katelyn's feelings. So, when Katelyn confronts Josh about how she feels, he dumps her like a dead body in a river."
"Nice comparison, Glen."
"Thanks. Anyway, a heartbroken Katelyn goes from crush to obsession. She begins stalking the poor guy, chasing off any girl who gets within two feet of him. And then you come along, and Josh suddenly has a love interest..."
"Wait, wait!" I interrupted. "Back up. Are you saying Josh has a crush on me?"
"More than a crush, Kayla. Honestly, haven't you noticed? The guy's crazy about you, you're all he ever talks about. 'Kayla's so powerful.' 'Kayla's so smart.' 'Isn't Kayla brave?' Kayla, Kayla, Kayla. Honestly, he's like your own little fan club. You haven't noticed him staring at you? Honestly, the way the guy looks at your-"
"Glen!"
"Sorry! I'm just saying. Anyway, Katelyn’s suddenly got competition, and she can't get near you since you're Sabrina's new favorite. But with Sabrina out of the picture for a while, she's free to harass you. What ticks her off even more is the fact that you have so many allies." Glen finished. I sat there, shaking my head.
"This is crazy. How do you know all this?" I asked.
Glen gave me an amused look. "Honestly? You need to hang out with Stephanie and Bridget more. They've got all the juicy gossip on the group."
"You hang out with Stephanie and Bridget?" I said, startled.
Glen shrugged. "I was trying to get information on someone." He explained.
