𝐋𝐞𝐭 𝐠𝐨
Two days.
That’s all it had been.
Forty-eight hours since the sun last rose with any meaning.
Felix hadn't spoken. Not really. His voice had gone hoarse from crying, then quiet from exhaustion. Now, it barely existed at all—just like him.
Chan didn’t ask questions when Felix finally said, “I want to see him.”
He just nodded. Drove him to the hospital in silence, knuckles white on the steering wheel, jaw clenched like he was holding back the weight of the world.
The morgue was cold.
Too cold.
Felix’s breath came out in soft clouds as he stood there, body stiff under the hospital lights, heart cracking more with each echoing step.
The nurse gave them a look. Chan murmured something quietly, handed her an envelope.
And then she left.
(My immortal - Evanescence)
Felix stood in front of the metal drawer for a long time.
He didn’t move.
Didn’t breathe.
Until Chan reached for the handle, gently pulled it open—
And the world crumbled all over again.
There he was.
Hyunjin.
Still as beautiful as ever.
Even now, pale and lifeless. Quiet choke escaped Felix's lips, he ran hand through Hyunjin's black hair. "Baby..." He whispered hoarsley.
Chan looked away, he wasn't used to this kind of things. "I- I'll give you time." He murmured and stepped outside.
Felix stared at Hyunjin's face, his tears falling down on his cheeks. Hyunjin's lips were slightly parted, like he wanted to say something but couldn't.
"I'm here now... Don't worry." He grabbed Hyunjin's hand, flinching at how cold it was. Until he reached under Hyunjin's neck and legs, with soft grunt he held him up, carefully sitting down on floor with male in his arms, his head resting on Felix's shoulder like he was just sleeping.
Felix wasn't scared. Why would he be? That's what Hyunjin taught him yeah?
"If you loved someone...
If you really loved them, you'd hold them. Even if they were dying. Even if they were dead.
You wouldn't care about how disgusting
it is, Because... they're still them. Even when they're gone."
“I brought you a blanket... remember? That old blue one. I carried it the whole way here. I didn’t want you to be cold.”
He pulled it tighter around Hyunjin’s body, like it would help, like it could warm the chill from his skin.
Felix held him close. Rocked him slightly.
“I never got to tell you,” he murmured, tears slipping silently down his jawline. “That night… before you left… I was gonna say it. I swear I was.”
His fingers threaded into Hyunjin’s hair again, pressing a soft kiss to his temple.
“I love you, Hyunjin. I love you so fucking much it hurts. You can’t do this to me. You can’t.”
