I woke up with a huge stabbing pain in my head. My vision wasn't quite clear either, "Where am I?" I mumbled. I wasn't in my room or let alone in my house.
It looked like a hospital. And then it all came rushing back to me, when I'd collapsed and I remembered seeing a blurry figure shouting my name. I must have fainted and now was in hospital, I hated being in the hospital. There food sucked and they were always in your face when all you wanted was peace and quiet. The last time I was in the hospital was when Tom was here. When he died.
"Oh good morning miss." A doctor came in the room cheerily. She checked all the computers that I was hooked up to, which was a lot.
"Where's my mum?" I asked politely. My vision was a bit better now and I could clearly make out her figure.
"Oh she told me to tell you that she will be working for a while." She said before walking out of the room. I then heard the door to my room open again just after that doctor had left. See what I mean no peace and quite or anyone to leave you alone! That thought slipped from my mind though when I saw who it was.
"Hey." I heard Katie. I turned to see her all dolled up. She looked like she just went to a concert or something. But then again this was Katie.
"Oh hey." I said smiling at her while struggling to sit up. I had so many cords stuck to me.
"How are you?" She asked as she sat beside my bed in a chair.
I sighed, really I had no idea. I had only just woken up and my brain didn't function well when I just woke up. In the hospital or on a normal day. "Good." I came up with, I was quite pleased. Katie gave me a disbelieving look. I shrugged not knowing what else to do. Plus it was the only movement I could make without feeling pain.
"How about you?" I asked looking over at Katie who had now slouched in her seat. Then she suddenly stood up. Okay....well that's normal.
"Well I have a few of things I need to tell you." She said excitedly.
"He's improving!" I knew who she meant even if she didn't say his name, she meant her dad. Her dad was improving! That was great! It was also very rare to happen. Her dad was improving! That was amazing!
"That's awesome!" I said high-fiving her because I couldn't really hug her with all these cords stuck to me. Plus to painful.
"And guess what!" She said dramatically jumping up and down. I had no idea like usual. She was stupid to even say guess what because I didn't bother guessing.
"I don't know." I admitted. She'd probably just tell me knowing her. That or she'd make me guess. The horror.
"I have a boyfriend!" She squealed with delight. My first reaction was yuck but then I thought good for her. And then I thought who?
"Who?" I asked dying to know. Who would it be?
"Just the cutest guy ever!" She said bringing her hands to her cheeks. She was such a dramatiser.
"And who is he?" I asked impatiently.
"Todd." She sighed dreamily. I gasped, really! I should have known. Actually I think I did guess that would happen. They were acting all gooey eyed when we had the sleepover.
"How long?" I asked. She was staring of into space all lovey dove eyed.
"It's now officially one day and three minutes ." She said checking her watch. Of course she'd know the time to when it started she was so perfected and dramatic and childish at the same time. I wondered how her and Todd got along, I mean Todd was just childish not perfected at all. But then again so was Katie. She liked to think she was perfected.
