"I couldn't bring myself to tell you." He tells me as we lay parallel to each other under my blankets. After the eventful night Brent had driven me home and walked me in and everything locking all the doors and things. I had asked him why he hadn't told me and this was the answer I got.
"Why?" I ask as I pull myself closer to him and inhaling his beautiful smell. He kinda had a orangey and cinnamon smell to him, not that I was about to tell him that. I was just observeant.
"Because I didn't want to burden you with the fear that becomes over powering." He says as he plays with my hair running his hands through it. I understood his reason but I was still a little mad at him but more concerned than anything.
I don't reply to him but I just peck him lightly on the lips before we lay there in silence for a little longer. He'd ended up staying for a while insisting that he needs to and saying that he wasn't leaving until I was certain I was okay and everything, which I was.
He even offered to stay the night but we did have school the next day and if Brent and I had another sleep over I didn't think we'd get much sleep. But eventually I may have persuaded him with a few kisses that he should go.
Once he'd left I just laid in my bed thinking through the situation. There wasn't much to it really but it all came with a big punch. A very big punch. I think through this for hours until finally my brain starts to shut down and along with the rest of me.
I'm sitting in my room when my phone rings loudly in my pocket. Pulling my phone out I see that it's from an unknown number. Curiosity gets the better of me and I answer it.
"Hello, who is this?" I answer into the phone.
"I'll just say I'm not your friend." A gravelly deep voice says through the phone. Fear overtakes me as I remember reality.
"Who is this and what do you want?" I ask the person on the other end.
The man chuckles, "What do I want?" He ponders quietly.
"Well?" I encourage him ready to hang up.
"I'm just wondering where you are at the moment?" He asks and I scoff at him.
"Why in the word would I tell you that!" I scream into the phone and the man just laughs.
"I'm not expecting you too." The man says.
"Well then why did you ask?" I ask fed up.
"To distract you." He says and a chill runs down my spine.
Immediately I feel two firm hands wrap around my mouth and I'm scared for a second that they will suffocate me. The person throws me back roughly and a land on the floor with a thud. I let out a piercing scream as the person comes at me with a syringe. But soon the world fades out.
I awake with a piercing scream and sit up abruptly. I immediately reach over to my lamp and turn on the light. It was just a dream, thank god. It seemed so real and it was so scary. That was the kinda danger I was in now. That was what kinda people I was up against.
Damn my dream self for picking up the phone.
There's a shrill start of music and my jumpy self lets out a scream. I turn to see that it's just my phone. My phone. Slowly I reach over to it and sign a sigh of relief to find that it's just Katie. Good, it's just Katie.
I answer the phone but still cautiously, "Hello?" I answer.
I'm shocked when I find that she doesn't answer me. Maybe she just butt rang me or something. I'm about to hang up when I hear a gravelly voice answer me, "Hello Georgia." The voice answers.
I immediately scream and drop the phone and then I scan my room, there's not one in here. No one. So I'm okay. I get up and lock the door and then my window.
Picking up the phone I see he hasn't hang up on me, "Hello?" I start shakily.
"Hey sweet cheeks, how are you?" He asks cheerily as I take in shaky breaths. He knows my name.
"What do you want?" I breath out.
"Not much, just you." He tells me. "We have Katie and Todd so I would hurry if I was you. Meet us at Sawyer Park Warehouse. And hurry or well hurt them." My heart is hammering in my chest and tears are already streaming down my face. He has Katie and Todd! What do I do!?
"Okay, I'll be there." I say rushed as I grabbed my jacket and fling the door open. I was met though with a fist in the face. I immediately fell to the floor in pain and squinted through my bruised eyes. It was Brent's father
And he had a gun.
Pointed at me.
Bang!
*
I awoke with a start as I immediately sat up and rushed to my blinds opening them to day light streaming through. I was awake now. I was awake. I was awake. That was not real. That was not real. That was not real. I chanted in my head as I got ready for school.
