Marks P.O.V
Run to the line. Catch the ball. Weave back. Run to the line. Catch the ball. Weave back. Run to the line. Catch the ball. Weave back. Run to the line. Catch the ball. Weave back. We had been doing this all training session with coach Davis because apparently we weren't doing something right.
In fact we were doing it all right. Well, that's what we thought.
"MARCUS PALOMINO! DO NOT SWITCH OF WHEN IM COACHING YOU!" I hear coach Davis yell out to me.
I mutter a few cusses under my breath but switch on. Run to the line. Catch the ball. Weave back. And repeat this for the next hour.
AN HOUR LATER....
"I swear he wet that ball on purpose so we would drop it." Daniel mutters under his breath. At the moment we are all in the change rooms and are all getting dressed. Coach Davis finally let us go after an hour, he still said we weren't doing it right but he looked tired himself. Sometimes I wondered why I played on the footy team when he coached. The guy was fat and lazy, grouchy and he had a bad temper. He was anything but a good coach.
"My legs are burning!" Another guy complains as I pull on my socks.
"Ah, stop being babies!" Sam slaps the boy who was Patrick on the back. I look up to watch Sam as he strides around the room, oh okay, well he doesn't stride, he just walks. I don't see what Georgia saw in him. I know she didn't go out with him or anything but she accepted him as a friend.
Sam was a basic guy who had an ego bigger than Russia. He thought pretty highly of himself I could tell but I guess he had good reasons. The guy was defiantly good looking and I guess if I was to be honest he was one of the best on our team. But I still don't see what was so special about him. He's just a guy.
But then there was Brent. Of course she went for Brent! He was perfect. He was good looking, athletic, popular, smart, nice, rich and just let me say rich again just to get my point across, he was rich. They were the two most popular ones in school of course they'd ended up together. It was just unfair though, my life was unfair. Everyone else seemed to get what they wanted and then there was me. Forever alone.
I guess I deserved it though, I was a jerk to Georgia. I was the one who ruined our perfect relationship. I was stupid. Actually I am stupid.
"Hey dude, how's Katie going?" I listen into Todd and Sam's conversation. Yeah I know, I'm eavesdropping but I don't care.
I watch out of the corner of my eye as Todd nods and smiles. "She's great." He says and I can just see the love in his eyes. The admiration he has for Katie and the way his face lights up its not hard to see he loves her. That's what me and Georgia had, that love. Until I ruined it all.
Sam smiles at his response, "Can we please catch up and talk about Georgia?" I hear Sam plead and immediately I see Todd's face darken. "Please, I just need to know what's going on?" He pleads again as his eyes dart around the room to make sure no ones listening or watching. He doesn't see me watching out of the corner of my eye.
"I thought I told you already that I can't tell you. It's her and Brent's business." Todd replies sounded pissed of. Sam's eyes fall to the ground and he curses under his breath.
