Sam's P.O.V
The man looked about maybe fifty, he looked rugged and so much like Brent that it was scary. He had the same hair colour, eyes and build. Just everything about him was so much like Brent. So when he came up to me I was just frozen there in wonder.
I quickly tried my best to shake myself out of my daze, "Hello?" I questioned him.
The man quickly brightened and that's when I knew that he had to be related to Brent. His smile, though it looked forced it was just like Brent's. Not that I had seen his smile for a while. But I wanted too, I missed him, I missed Todd as well and especially Georgia. I missed how we would all hang out and have fun. I missed being happy.
I felt bad now for what I had done. Yes, it was unfair that Brent got the girl I had been fawning over for, for to long but so what. I should have just been happy for them. I shouldn't have done what I had done.
It hurt now. To see them at school smiling, happy, without me. It hurt to see that the fact that me leaving didn't change anything. That they didn't cry or care. Okay Sam, pull yourself together or your going to end up crying in front of this guy.
"You must be Sam." The man says as he puts out his hand for me to shake. I shake it reluctantly as he smiles at me. "I'm Brent's father." He tells me. I of course don't question it because they look so much alike. I just don't understand after all that us guys had been through together he didn't tell us about his father. Well, he didn't tell me. All I knew was that Brent came from a rough child hood at home and was now a foster child. But looking at this man I couldn't see how he could have come from a rough child hood.
"Yes, how do you know?" I ask cautiously. If this man knew my name surely he'd know how I got jealous of Brent.
"I've kept in contact with Brent, I've heard your name a few times." He says smoothly and I can't help but notice how his eyes are darting everywhere but where mine are. Weird.
"Oh." Is all I get out.
"You two seem to be good friends so I just thought I could ask a few favours from you?" He asks me now meeting my eyes. I think I must just be standing there with such a blank expression that he thinks I've said yes.
"Good lad! I'm throwing a surprise party for him and I need some of his friends numbers." He tells me not going into much detail.
"Okay? So you want some phone numbers." I clarify while giving him a questioning glance. How should I know if I can trust this man? Brent has come from a rough child hood so shouldn't this man be a cause for it? Or would it be his mum? Where was his mum? So many questions were running through my head that they were hard to keep up with.
"Yes! Smart lad!" He says patting me on the back. I can't help but notice how much force is in his pat. The mans really strong. Actually what's his name? "I'll need Georgia's first." He tells me.
"Sure." I say keeping my eyes on him as I pull my phone from my pocket. I had kept Georgia's phone number in my phone. But every time I would scroll past it or see the old texts I would feel so guilty. I don't know why I didn't just ring her and apologise? I read out her number to him and he types it in his phone.
"Good." He says with a smile that looks scary across his face. "Thank you Sam, you've been of great assistance to me." He thanks me and I just smile politely.
