27 | His Father

Brent and Leo share a look in between them and Leo nods and that's when Brent looks like he's going to be sick. Brent jumps of me still dripping wet and follows Leo down stairs and I follow along too. What's happened? We head down to the lounge room where they have a TV blaring and it sounds like it's on the news Chanel. Everyone's in the room all the boys and Tom and Sue. Todd and Katie are sitting there as well looking as confused as I am but Todd looks like he has a bit more of an understanding than we do.

I turn to look at all the boys there as pale as Leo was and Connor looks like he's going to cry as he runs into his mums arms and he actually does start to sob. But then there's Brent who is really scaring me, he looks angry at the same time as looking like he's going to be sick too. I was curious but I was mostly worried sick. Brent looked horrible, he looked scared. Whatever he was afraid of I wanted to know what it was so I could kick it up the ass.

"I was recording something on the news channel but they had this other story on Brent." Jarred says as he fiddles with the TV to get the recording going. Brent just nods with a grave expression on his face as he takes a seat on a single couch not even caring that he's wet and nobody else seems to care either. I think about going to sit down with him but I don't when the news starts.

"We have a new top story that is most disturbing and violent but also brave and sad. Records have been showing of the family's past but now things have gotten out of hand. The happy family of seven children and a loving mother were all brutally murdered except one child who escaped the hands of his crazed father. The escaping child still living today is hiding away from his father under protection of a family unit. But recent news has told us that the crazed father managed to escape his jail cell and is now running on the loose." It showed a photo of the man on the screen and I could understand crazed, he had this crazed look in his eyes and it was creeping me out.

"The man is dangerous and is to be feared by all. He may as well have no mind and is to be killed on sight if needed be. Please be warned that he will do the same. Also recent news has shown that he left a message in his jail cell purposefully meaning for us to read it saying," the letter showed in the screen and I read it with the woman. "Hello world, I believe that you will be reading this note now that I am out of jail. Hello son, I am warning you. I am coming for you. I will not stop until I find you and I will do anything and everything in my power to get to you. Everything you love will be mine, everyone you love will be mine. And you will be gone." The lady paused for effect but I don't think it really needed effect it was scary enough. I was secretly hoping that this was either a bad dream or maybe the boys were pulling a prank.

"The rest of the note could not be deciphered for it had been dampened but we will update you when we hear more and please come back after the ads for more on how to keep you car clean forevermore...." The ads came on and I realised I was the only one left standing and it wasn't a good thing. I felt like I might faint.

"Bailey, go get me the phone please." Tom asks Bailey and he gets up immediately to go get it. What's happening, why is this story hitting them so hard? I look over to Brent who has his head in his hands while Leo's patting him on the back even though he looks like he might burst into tears too.

"I'm sorry but could someone please explain what's happening here?" Katie interrupts and I think it's the first time anyone notices us. Sue and Tom look in my direction and then In Brent's who's lifted his head to look at me and I see the tears in his eyes. It's scaring me.

"Haven't you told her?" Tom asks Brent who just shakes his head.

"Do any of them know Brent?" Sue asks sounding alarmed.

"No." Brent answers quietly. And then it hits me, the night out on that balcony.

We were talking about things we didn't know about each other. Brent had told me his whole birth family was dead. Slowly the pieces come together. Everyone dead Except for his dad.

"Holy shit!" My eyes widen with horror. That crazed man is Brent's father, and that man is after Brent and not only after him but put to kill him. This can't be real. Not real, find a happy place, find a happy place, find a happy place.

"Georgia..." Brent doesn't finish because I fling myself into his arms.

"I'm so sorry but would someone please explain what's going on?" Todd sounds more pissed than anything now. I have tears running down my face now and am choking with sobs, not my Brent. Why did he have to get out of his stupid cell! I look up into Brent's face and he's looking down at me with so much sympathy when really that should be me. I'm only making it worse.

"Brent..choke...sob....sob...sniff.." I can hardly get anything out. Brent rubs me on the back and I silently cry into his already wet shoulder.

"What's the hell is happening!" Todd cries now and we all turn to look at him. He and Katie are very pale and Katie looks so worried that she might faint.

"That man," Tom says simply "is Brent's father." Todd and Katie look like they might pass out and I don't blame them. Todd slowly sits down not taking his eyes of Brent and wraps his arms around Katie who looks like shes nearly crying.

Then Bailey walks back in the room and hands the phone too Tom who quickly dials a number and then heads out of the room. "Hello officer." He says though. This is a serious matter. A Brent killing man is out an about the country, prepared to do anything to kill the love of my life. And I wasn't about to let that happen.

"Brent, this is crazy." Todd says ending a minute of silence. Brent simply just nods before moving me so that he can cup my face in his hands and turn my head to his. We sit like this for at least two minutes until I can't wait any longer and I lean forward and kiss him forgetting the people in the room and the situation we're in. What ever happens though we were going to make it out of it. All of us accounted for. Nobody being lost along the way. Eventually we pull away and Brent puts his forehead to mine.

"Whatever happens I won't let anything happen to you." He says out of breath from our kiss.

"Whatever happens which will be nothing, nothing will happen to you." I tell him and I get a hint of a smile from him before we kiss again until we both literally can't breath. Everyone is quite respectful about it, jarred actually doesn't tease us. Which he shouldn't, not with what is going on. Anyway I had very right to kiss my boyfriend.

Tom walks in from the ending phone call. "There out at the moment Brent but there not having much luck." He says glumly before leaning down reassuringly and kissing sue who seems a bit out of it but all the same. She's looking at me and Brent with so much admiration and adoration.

"Do they have any clue if he knows where I am?" He asks and I realise I'm holding my breath waiting for the answer.

"They don't know anything!" He says frustrated and I'm surprised when he picks up the TV remote and chucks it fair right into the TV so it's half stuck in there. All the boys and sue don't seem to be surprised but I could help but jump which earns me a playful kiss on the cheek from Brent.

"Those police don't know a darn thing! He's probably on his way here right now while there sitting there sipping there coffee and gossiping like woman!" I think he has a thing against police. But at the moment if they weren't doing anything I was going to walk up and kick them up the butts until they did something.

"Do you have a gun?" I felt the need to ask. All heads turned towards me, I was just looking out for Brent but Tom just smiled. Not weirded out at all.

"Yes we have several." Pure relief.
