"So how was last night?" Katie asks as she finds it amusing that Tom had heard our whole conversation, which I did not find amusing at all. Who would find it amusing if your brother thought you liked a boy that you clearly didn't like. Or two boys! Not cool man, not cool. Plus he's a guys to keep rubbing it into your face all the time so no it was not ammusing.

"Oh, yeah it was great!" I say sarcastically. We are heading to peaches Katie's favourite clothes shop. I hated it there, she would try on a million outfits and ask for my opinion for them all while I sat there and did nothing. The reason I wanted to come shopping was cause I needed some new books. Katie was talking about the seasons new colours and style she wanted to be wearing, as usual I wasn't listening. I felt kinda bad for not listening but I think she knew I wasn't listening anyway so it was all cool.

So while she was fully into her conversation I sneak of into the book shop. I loved it there. I knew Katie would get mad but she'd get over it, eventually and hopefully. I loved to read and to put your head in a whole different world. I pick up the rest of the series to the maze runner because I loved it. It was so full on and I was honestly sitting on the edge of my seat when reading it. I swear I was like in love with thomas even though he's fictional. Fictional characters are so much easier to love than real characters.

As I head to the counter with the rest of the series just then I see a familiar head. But then it disappears, I was really going crazy. But then behind me I hear the heads voice.

"Hey." It was Brent, I think I nearly jump sky high. What was he doing in here anyway, I mean I'm in a book store. What would brent, the Brent be doing in a book store?

"Um, hi." I say nervously wondering if he was even talking to me, I doubt it. I mean I know the guy and I'm pretty sure he knows me but not well enough to say hey, what's up?

"That's a good series?" He says as he sees my books. I look at him and then shake myself out of my daze realising he was waiting for me to answer.

"Oh, yes it is." I say and He nods smiling at me.

"What?" I ask after a while of him and me just looking at eachother. I'm sorry but I'm just not good with silence, it's just awkward.

He shakes himself out of his daze. "Oh, um nothing." We stand there awkwardly for another whole minute. I'm serious, I'm counting the minute on the clock on the wall behind brent.

"Well I'd better go, Katie's probably realised I'm gone by now." I turn to walk away and hear him say goodbye behind me. That was so weird, now I'm even more confused. Yay just what I needed. I head to the counter to pay for my books.

"Just the two?" The young cashier asks me as he inspects the books scanning them. I'm pretty sure he's from our school and if not Ive seen him some where, I just don't know where.

"Yes thanks." I tell him as he does the cash register stuff. He asks for the money and so I give it to him, yeah you know the norm.

"It's Georgia right?" The guy asks and now that he has moved in a different direction I can see his name tag, Alec. Cool name. I think he is from school now, he plays on the footy team and I reckon one of his friends was one of Katie's boyfriends.

"Yeah." I say cautiously. "How do you know my name?" I then ask him.

He scoffs at me whilst placing my books in a bag, "Who doesn't know your name Georgia?" He says as he hands me the books over the counter. "Your like the most popular girl there is at school." Alec says with a small smile noticing my confusion.

"I am?" I question him not even realising it, i didn't know I was that popular. I didn't even know I was popular.

"Yes very." Alec now says with a chuckle before he waves me of and out of the shop.
