I awake to the sound of arguing but just can't really make it out. It sounds like Bailey and jarred in the room next door and I can only hear snippets of the argument but it sounds pretty heated. ".....why.......tell her that!" Came jarred.
"It.....me......so shut the #!$@ up!" That came from Bailey. So I think jarred was accusing Bailey of saying something to some girl. This is when I turn to Brent. Our legs were tangled together and his arms wrapped around me. I've never felt so comfy in my life. We fit together like a puzzle but better. I could feel his scar against my stomach and I cold also feel his hats abs against my own stomach.
"Are you awake Brent?" I ask him but find out its a dumb question because he sleeps like a bear but a very good looking bear. He doesn't snore either so it's great really, I don't think I'd ever had a better sleep than that for a long time. I slowly get up trying my best not to jostle him and prove successful. Now clothes? I of course have my underwear but I'm not walking out in just that as much as jarred would like that. I realise that I only have my dress from last night. I hear a grunt behind me and turn to see Brent's eyes fluttering open, seriously fluttering.
"Morning." He says groggily before realising he could get a good eyeful of me in my underwear which he certainly does.
"Are jarred and Bailey always like that?" I ask referring to them arguing which was continuing still. As I turned away Brent has gotten to his knees and come up behind me leaning into my neck, I could feel his hot breath there and it sent shivers down my spine. I swear he was teasing me.
"Yeah but who cares, what I care about is this lovely piece of meat before me." He says as he leans in to my neck and kisses it, softly and slowly.
"I'm just meat now am I?" I can't help but be amused but it comes out all breathy and quite. I hear him chuckle as he pulls away.
"Well yes you actually are and so am I." He's right we are meat. I give him a tired look and he has a look of success on his face.
"Ha! I won!" He yells so I slap him on the shoulder and he pouts like a three year old.
"Ow!" He cries. I can't help but scoff at him.
"Your a man, men don't say ow." I tell him but he just ignores me and pecks me on the cheek as he sits up and reaches for his pants.
"So what I'm I going to wear Brent?" I question him. I don't think I'd be able to wear something of his. He turns to me as he flashes me his million dollar smile.
"Katie gave me this last night for you because remember it's toms funeral." Now that's called dropping a bomb on someone. He hands me a bag with a plain simple black dress and matching black heels. Thank god she didn't get something fancy and Katie like. The heels are also simple too, another score to you Katie.
"Oh." Is all I get out as I look to Brent who's giving me a concerned look. He comes back to sit beside me as he wraps his arm around me and kisses me on the hair.
"This must be so hard for you, you've been so strong Georgia." Brent says, I don't feel strong I feel like I'm going to break any minute. I feel tears coming to my eyes and a few run down my cheek. "I admire you for how strong you are." He pauses for a second as he takes in a deep breath. "When I lost my siblings, my brother." He pauses again taking anther deep breath but now a shaky one. "I was lost for ages, a crying mess. I broke down for good." I turn my head to face him and see he has tears in his eyes.
"Brent." I say soothingly as I stroke away one of his tears.
"If it wasn't for Todd, I wouldn't have made it through." Todd had helped him through? Did Todd know about what happened to his family, maybe that's why they were so close. "But now I have you too share my whole story with. And I will." He says and I'm shocked. Now? Really?
"Brent, I love how your being so open but not now." I see in his expression that he understands. "We're both upset and vulnerable and we have a funeral to get too."
