I chuckle at the brunette as I glance over at her. "I'm Ellie and I'm not... brooding, just have a lot on my mind." I turn my attention back to my quesadilla, cut it into four pieces then take a bite. The slight crunch of the tortilla is perfect, the saucy BBQ pork with the melted mozzarella, cheddar, pepper jack and finely chopped green chilies is delicious. I would come back here again just for the quesadilla.

I can feel the brunette watching me as I eat but I don't care. After not eating dinner last night and nothing this morning, I am hungry. I down the rest of my margarita and motion to the bartender for another one. "You were definitely brooding but it's okay, we all have times like that. So what do you say to my offer?"

I chuckle again as I look at the very persistent Natalie. "Maybe."

"Well until you decide for sure, how about a little company to get you out of your head?"

I take a drink of my margarita then look at Natalie. "You can sit wherever you want to but I don't think I will be the best company. Want your friends' miss you though if you're over here?" I motion my head towards the table she was at earlier.

Natalie looks towards the table she was at and I look that way too. There's six people still at the table and two of them are looking in our direction. "No, they're good. When we go out, we always know there's a chance some of us will find someone we are interested in."

"Are you insinuating you're interested in me?" I down the rest of my margarita and raise the empty glass towards the bartender as I wait for Natalie's response.

"Well can you blame me for being interested? In all seriousness though, you looked like you could use a friend or someone to talk to? So what do you say about that talk? Like I said, I'm a great listener."

The bartender walks over with another double margarita and takes the empty glass. "Sure, why not. I guess I can give you a rundown."

Natalie gasps as she places one of her hands on her chest. "A rundown. Girl I want details, especially if there's spicy details." She wiggles her eyebrows as she looks at me and I feel myself relaxing a little. Something about her seems familiar but I don't think I've ever seen her before or maybe I have. Maybe she goes to the same university as me and I've seen her in passing. Or maybe it's just her character but she is pretty cool and could see us being friends.

"Are you in college anywhere around here?"

Natalie laughs as she flags the bartender back over. "No, not in college. I've already finished the whole college thing. I'm 26 in case you were wondering and you could have just asked if you really wanted to know."

I shake my head and roll my eyes. "I wasn't trying to figure out your age so don't flatter yourself. I thought maybe I had seen you around campus before or something."

The bartender walks up and takes Natalie's drink order as I am drinking on my third margarita. "So does that mean you're still in college?" Natalie asks as I watch her blatantly check me out.

"Yes, and I'm actually graduating this year. Now, little miss nosy, since you must know, it's woman troubles."

Natalie laughs and shakes her head, "it's always woman troubles." She motions for me to continue as she picks up her nearly finished drink she brought over with her and downs I while she waits for the bartender to return with her new drink.

"I've had feelings for this woman for a while but never made it known. Out of the blue one day she kisses me then eventually admits she is attracted to me and feels something for me. A couple weeks ago, I took her out on a date, everything went good, really good. I had a family emergency the next morning after our date and had to leave. Then when I got back she acted like she wanted nothing to do with me. Even went as far as telling me it was a mistake."

"Thank you." Natalie says as the bartender brings her new drink over and takes the empty glass from her other one. "Wow, not much detail indeed. You definitely meant a rundown. But, in my opinion, it sounds like the woman is a bitch and used you. Maybe she knew all along how you felt about her and used that to her advantage. Once she got what she wanted, which I'm assuming by the really good, you slept with her, then she was done with you. She should have just been up front with you and told you that she was just looking for a one night stand instead of leading you on."

I down half of my margarita and shake my head no. "That's the thing though, she's not that type of person and definitely not a bitch. It just makes me mad that we had such a great time after previously confessing our feelings for each other then out of the blue she does this. She didn't ghost me, just basically said we were... friends and that was it." I damn sure wasn't going to say Dani said we were just professor and student.

Natalie takes a big gulp of her drink then starts laughing. I look at her with raised brows because I have no idea what is funny. I think she has definitely had to much to drink. Her and her friends were already here when I got here so there's no telling how much she had already drank before she came over to me.

"Sorry, I just had a funny thought." I look at Natalie waiting for her to continue but she starts laughing again. After a couple seconds she stops laughing and looks at me. "Were you so bad at sex that you made her change her mind about you? Wow, she is a bitch." She covers her mouth with her hand as she tries to keep from laughing again.

For some reason that rubs me the wrong way. "Very funny Natalie but I can assure you that it had nothing to do with the sex. I made sure she was very well taken care of and for the last time, she is not a bitch." I feel myself getting mad over the whole situation with Dani and ball my fist up.

Natalie turns facing me and moves to the edge of her stool. "Is that so? Maybe you would like to prove how good you can take care of another woman. What do you say? Want to get out of here and release some frustration? Might make you feel better."

I watch as Natalie reaches out and places her hand on my fist then I focus back on her face. "I don't do one night stands."

Natalie squinted her eyes at me, "but isn't that what you had with that woman who has you so worked up? I have a couple friends here who don't drink and one of them can take us to my place and I'll bring you in the morning to get your car. You can take out all that pent up frustration on me and fuck me senseless."

I start to respond to Natalie but stop as I realize she is kind of right about the situation with Dani and I am really frustrated in more ways than one. I quickly down the rest of my margarita. "Fuck it, let's go, lead the way."
