"Talking"

—----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

He's fuckin' quick.

Gray stepped to the side, dodging barely as Suiryu's foot lashed past his face. In one fluid motion, Suiryu spun around as the air seemed to swirl around him. The same foot that Gray had just dodged came slamming toward him again before he even had a chance to counterattack, and Gray was forced to backpedal.

I can't let him force me into a martial arts contest. I need to fight him like a Saiyan.

Gray wouldn't say he was 'bad' at martial arts by any means - he wasn't a martial artist, but he incorporated a lot of the basics into his regular fighting style. It wasn't hard to dodge a punch and counterattack, or swing your leg around in a roundhouse kick, or even to flip through the air with his supernatural body.

Suiryu was doing all that, but better. Gray could tell it wasn't just the power level difference between them that made the difference.

His basics are a lot better than mine, and he hasn't even gotten serious yet.

Every move the fighter across from him made was fluid. There wasn't an overwhelming power, but there didn't need to be. His body shifted so effortlessly that every punch Gray threw looked like it would connect, but then it wouldn't. They seemed to slide off his muscular body - Gray felt like he was trying to punch a slippery statue of ice.

But that piece of ice was punching back. Suiryu knew exactly where to move to bait Gray into thinking his attack would connect, and then exactly where to move to launch a counter-attack of his own. And, despite the uneven fight at the moment, it was clear that Suiryu wasn't giving it his all. He hadn't brought out any special attacks or signature moves.

He has a lot more HP than I do, so using Broly's style puts me at a disadvantage.

Broly's dominant and offense-oriented fighting style was the opposite of what Gray needed right now, but it was all he had.

He'll run circles around Kolra's boxing, and if I try to fight without using a style...

Gray knew the basics of fighting, but trying to free-ball his own style against such a powerful opponent was just asking for him to get his ass beat.

I really wish I had gotten Yamoshi's style right now. Hell, I wish I'd even convinced Piccolo to take some time and have those spars.

As Suiryu shot forward with a flurry of punches that Gray struggled to dodge, Gray was starting to realize just how limited his current arsenal of styles was. Kolra's relied too much on guarding - something he couldn't even afford to do with how strong Suiryu's punches were - and Broly's relied on the opposite.

I've still got a lot of learning to do.

Despite the poor situation he was in, Gray was still grinning widely as he jerked his head back, barely dodging a lightning-fast punch aimed at his head.

I'll have to use my points if I want to win. But I don't need to win.

Gray abruptly stepped forward, forgoing his dodging as a flurry of punches slammed into his chest.

I just need to not die until the moon comes.
