Ethan woke up to his girlfriend singing 'Happy Birthday' while holding a tray full of food. He smiled at her as she sat down on the bed and finished the song, giving him a peck on the cheek. "Happy birthday, babe." She smiled as she placed the tray on his lap. "Thank you Katie." Ethan sincerely replied. He kissed her on the forehead before picking up a soldier dipped in yolk and feeding it to her. She smiled at him and tucked her head into his neck, closing her eyes. "I love you Ethan." She whispered. Ethan stopped eating and looked down at her hand. He got hold of it and grasped it as he quietly replied, "I love you too Katie."

They went to the theatre to watch a play Katie was madly in love with after breakfast. She held onto Ethan's hand and leaned on his shoulder throughout the play, laughing at the comedic scenes and crying a bit at the sad scenes. Ethan held her tight when she cried and comforted her, just like how she held him when he cried. They always helped each other, in good and bad times, they were always there for each other.

After the play, they had lunch. "Where do you wanna eat babes?" Katie asked. Ethan thought for a while. He didn't want to eat at Nando's, it would only give him sad memories. He wanted to eat somewhere new, somewhere he hadn't eaten before. "I'm not sure. You have any idea?" He replied. Katie thought for a while. "Well, there's a new Italian around the corner. We could share a pizza." She replied eagerly. Ethan nodded with a smile. "Ok, let's go!" Katie yelled before running off with Ethan behind.

She held onto Ethan's hand as she ran ahead. Her hair flew in the wind and she giggled as she ran through an area filled with pigeons. She squealed and laughed as they flew away, turning around to face Ethan. She smiled at him as the birds flew around them, she took a step towards Ethan and hugged him tightly. "I hope you're enjoying your birthday babe. I love you." She whispered in his ear. Ethan hugged back tightly. "I love it, and I love you Katie." He said back with a smile, closing his eyes as they embraced each other. The birds flew around them and they held onto each other. For the first time in ages, Ethan truly felt happy. And it was all because of Katie.

They went to the park after lunch. Katie held onto Ethan's hand the whole way and was babbling away about things. But Ethan wasn't paying much attention. He was thinking about Simon. Did Simon know it was his birthday? Did Simon even remember him? Did he miss him? Ethan remembered the day he and Simon went to the park. The day he promised Simon that he would never leave him, that everyone would accept them. They were broken promises, long gone. There was nothing but emptiness left.

"Ethan! Come on!" Ethan looked ahead to see Katie on a swing, laughing and cheering as she swung high in the air. Ethan smiled at her. She was happy, she made him happy. She was so much better then Simon, she was perfect. Ethan walked over to the swing next to Katie and started swinging, laughing slightly as he went up. He looked up at the sky, everything was perfect. He found the perfect person to be with, the perfect person to spend the rest of his life with. Katie. She was a miracle. He never thought he could recover from his past, but he had, and he was ready for the future. He was ready to be with Katie.
