Chapter 48 - Ready to Reunite

Ethan cracked his eyes open, the light burning him as he sat up, exhausted from the night before. He looked to the side to find the other half of the bed empty, Katie had already woken up. Ethan sighed before falling back onto his pillow, closing his eyes as he thought of the night before and what was going to happen.

He was going to Simon. He was going to go to the Sidemen house and finally going to confront the person he had been ignoring for months. Ethan turned onto his side as fear ran through him. He visualised the scene, Simon rejecting him and hating him for everything. His friends laughing behind his back as he was lashed out at by the boy he loved.

But everything had changed, hadn't it? His friends understood now and they took Ethan for who he was. And Simon still loved Ethan, just as strongly as he used to. Ethan opened his eyes again, blocking out the fear. He could see out of the window, the sunlight warming him. He watched the London skyline and the distant planes. If he loved Simon, then Simon loved him. And it didn't matter what anyone else thought. They loved each other and that was everything.

He got out of bed and looked in the mirror. His eyes ran over his puffy, red eyes and his red nose; and they came to rest on his arm. The felt tip marks had faded, but they were still there. "I'm not worth this." He whispered to himself before turning away and walking to the bathroom.

He ran water over his arm and washed away the marks before drying it off. He looked into the mirror in front of him. "I'm worth so much more." He smiled, feeling truly happy for the first time. He looked into the mirror as tears filled his eyes. He was going back to Simon, they were going to be reunited. He was going back to the boy he loved.

Ethan chuckled as he cried tears of happiness. All of the pain and hate was leaving him. Hope and love was filling him. He ran from the bathroom into the living room where he found Katie setting breakfast on the table. She turned around to see Ethan and smiled - a happy smile. "Ready?" She asked. "Ready." Ethan smiled back, before running over and hugging her.

Simon sat eating breakfast at the counter. Vikk, Josh and JJ sat around the counter with him. They watched Simon stuff his face, babbling away about a game he had started playing. He avoided looking at the others and kept his eyes on his food. He knew the others were sending each other looks, and he didn't want to see anymore negativity - there was enough of that coursing through his veins.

"Umm... Simon, are you ok?" Vikk slowly asked, as if afraid Simon was going to explode. "I'm fine." Simon replied, not looking up from his food. He was nervous, very nervous. And scared. Ethan was finally coming back and Simon didn't know what to do or how to approach him. He didn't know if Ethan would stay or leave again. He didn't know if Ethan still loved him or not. All Simon knew was that he loved Ethan and he wanted him back desperately.

Simon got up from his place and took his plate, walking over to the sink and washing it. He heard footsteps behind him leaving and he sighed as they became distant. The others had finally left him. He rinsed off his plate and put it on the drying rack before drying off his hands.

"Simon."

He turned around to find Josh stood next to him.

"It's ok to be nervous." Josh mumbled, looking him in the eye. Simon looked down. "I'm just... Afraid. It's been so long. What if Katie was wrong? What if Ethan doesn't love me?" He mumbled, afraid to look up.

"He will. He always has. Everything you've been going through, it's all going to end. You'll finally be with him. And we'll be with you every step of the way." Josh replied. Simon looked up at Josh, his eyes glazed over with tears. "I'm finally gonna meet him. I'm finally gonna see him Josh. I'm finally gonna see Ethan." Simon broke into happy tears. Josh smiled back as Simon went into his arms, crying into his shoulders. They were finally going to reunite.
