Simon slowed down to a halt outside of the police station. He fixed his eyes onto the people in front of him, fear and shame bubbling up in him.
"Simon, we're here to take you back to the hospital. And because we want to know what happened. Ethan's woken up and he said he didn't want to press any charges against you." Ethan's mum spoke up, walking towards Simon. Simon nodded, allowing her to lead him to her car.
"Stop." Ethan's mum and Simon stopped to face Ethan's dad - the one Simon was afraid of. His eyes looked like daggers, hoping to stab Simon in the heart.
"What did you do to my son?" He asked, his voice biting through the cold air. Simon looked down at the floor, too afraid to face him. "I... I pulled him too hard and he... He fell." He quietly replied.
"No, that's not it. That's not why he has those marks on his arms." Ethan's dad said, anger pulsing through him.
"Our friends didn't accept us and... And we argued and I left." Simon said, his voice breaking. "I'm sorry sir, I know what I did was wrong, I shouldn't have hurt Ethan. I regret it. I know you won't forgive me, but I love your son, and I promise I'll make it up to him."
Ethan's dad stood in front of Simon as some of the anger left him. "If you hurt him again, you'll have me to deal with. Understand?"
Simon nodded back, too weak to speak. Ethan's dad walked away to the car and got in. Ethan's mum, patted Simon's back, giving him a sympathetic smile before leading him to the car.
No one spoke a word on the journey to the hospital, Simon sat in the back, hiding away the tears he wanted to burst out. Ethan was in hospital because of him. Ethan had hurt himself because of him. He had caused Ethan to self harm.
Simon felt disgusted with himself. How was he going to face Ethan? Did Ethan even want to speak to him? Simon started to feel sick with himself as he wiped away the tears forming at his eyes.
They had finally arrived at the hospital and Simon ran to a bathroom as soon as he left the car. He stood in front of the mirror, staring at his reflection. A wave of disgust ran over him as he lurched forward, vomiting.
"Simon?" Someone was rubbing his back from behind but he couldn't tell who it was. He finally stopped vomiting and threw cold water over his face before standing up and seeing who it was in the mirror. "Vikk?" Simon turned around to face him.
"Are you okay?" Vikk asked, looking concerned.
"Yeah." Simon nodded, before walking away to get tissues.
"We heard what happened. Mrs. Payne called us."
"We?" Simon asked. Did he mean all of the Sidemen, including JJ?
"Me and Josh. Well, the only person she could reach was Josh and he told me. The others don't know anything."
"We don't know much ourselves." Josh walked in, looking at Simon questioningly. "What happened Simon?" He asked gently yet angrily.
Simon looked down at the floor as he quietly replied. "It's all because of me."
"What?"
"Ethan was self harming and... I vented my anger on him. The reason why he's in hospital is because of me. JJ made that video but he wasn't the one who did all of this. I did. I'm the guilty one."
