Simon sat on the sofa fumbling with his fingers. His hands were sweaty and his mouth was dry, the food he had eaten was slowly making its course back up as his stomach overcrowded with butterflies.
A knock. Vikk went to answer the door. Josh sat down next to Simon and patted his back. "Everything will be fine." Josh said with all honesty as he looked into Simon's eyes, and for once, Simon had some belief in those words. Josh got back up after passing a small smile onto Simon. He walked towards the doorway to see if it had been the visitors they were anticipating. He moved back into the room as slow, unsteady footsteps followed into the room. Simon stood up, the nerves getting to him. He swallowed his fear and focused on his breathing - he was finding the simple task very difficult. He strained his eyes to see past the doorway until the figure finally walked into the room.
Simon's eyes relaxed as Ethan stood in front of him. His mouth opened slightly as his breathing finally turned to normal. His eyes relaxed on Ethan. Tears taking over his sight as Ethan stood in front of him, just as emotional. Simon smiled, blinking away the tears. He wanted confirmation that Ethan was ok with what was happening, he still didn't know if Ethan was doing this willingly, or if Katie had forced him to do this. But the smile Ethan returned answered everything. He did want to meet Simon, he did want to reunite. Simon breathed out deeply as Ethan continued to smile, breaking into tears.
"Ethan." Simon croaked. They both took each other in, observing everything that had changed and everything that had stayed the same. Both breathed shakily, struggling, trying not to break down.
They ran into each others arms, breaking into loud sobs as they finally touched each other. As they finally touched the person they truly loved and yearned for. Simon closed his eyes as he felt Ethan's body against his, the warmth and smell taking over his senses. He finally held Ethan, the boy he loved. Ethan curled into Simon, tucking his head into the crook between Simon's neck and shoulder, taking in his smell and feeling his skin against his face. He closed his eyes as the tears streamed down, soaking Simon's t-shirt. He breathed deeply as he held Simon. The both holding on as tight as they could, not wanting to ever let go.
Josh, Vikk and Katie watched the two hold each other, their own hearts pounding with the raw emotions the couple in front of them were experiencing.
Josh and Vikk looked at each other, bright smiles and tears on their faces. They intwined their pinkies together, smiling as they looked down at their hands. They turned to Katie, who watched the scene, sadness, pain, happiness, relief; a mixture of emotions in her eyes. "Thank you." They whispered gratefully. If it hadn't been for Katie, the end of pain and suffering Ethan and Simon were experiencing would never have happened.
She smiled warmly, chuckling quietly. "It's fine. Ethan's happy, and so am I." She honestly said. It wasn't Ethan's fault, nor her fault, or anyones fault for what had happened. He was gay and no one could change that, not even himself. It wasn't his fault for what had happened between him and Katie. She was happy for him. And he was happy with Simon. And that was all she could ask for. So she let him go.
