SPECIAL EPISODE
"AND WHEN YOU WAKE UP YOU KNOW WHAT YOU NEED TO DO"
◽️◽️...November, 2011...◽️◽️
In the early morning, Klaus and Elijah sit opposite to each other in the living room as each of them read their own book.
There's a real tension between them. A tension different from when they'd simply fight or have those beautiful arguments between them. Even the most heated ones.
We all know why...
Klaus is reading 'a poison tree' by William Blake, and Elijah is reading one of his mother's grimoires. A dead girl lays on the coffee table, her neck bleeding from puncture wounds in her neck, while they listen to classical music.
After a moment, Rebekah enters the room, stopping in her tracks, glancing between her brothers with a look of pure incredulity.
"So, this is what you do the first time we're back together as a family? Vampire book club?" Rebekah asks.
"Reading edifies the mind, sister. Isn't that right, Elijah?" Klaus rhetorically asks, not taking his eyes off the book.
"Yes, that's quite right, Niklaus" Elijah agrees, too not deviating his attention from the book.
"And what's this business?" Rebekah points at the dead girl "You do realize that we have a pregnant girl upstairs, right?"
Elijah's attention finally withdrew from the book at Rosalind's mention.
Klaus' lips immediately twitched up with a soft smile.
"This is a..." Elijah gestures as though he's searching for a word "...peace offering"
"I presumed, after so much time desiccating in a coffin, that my big brother might be a bit peckish" Klaus explains himself.
"And I explained to my little brother that forgiveness cannot be bought. I'd simply prefer to see a change in behavior that indicates contrition and personal growth" Elijah says.
Klaus rolls his eyes guiltily, and Elijah gestures to the girl on the table.
"Not this nonsense" Elijah says.
"Well, I couldn't very well let her go to waste, could I?" Klaus says, grinning.
"Well, I suppose I'll go fetch the rubbish bin, because she's staining a two hundred-year-old carpet" Rebekah says.
Elijah looks up from his book to see the girl bleeding out onto the table, where the blood drips onto the floor
"Ah, yes" Elijah agrees, nodding his head.
The two of them return to their respective books as Rebekah leaves in hard footsteps.
The sound of quiet, delicate footsteps reached their ears. Soon, Rosalind walks in the room, tying her silk robe around herself, caressing her now visible pregnant bump.
What an amazing, breathtaking sight for the eyes.
She stops briefly, seeing both brothers staring at her fixedly, then she looks at the dead girl in the carpet.
